***UPDATE*** So, courtesy of direct connections to Sunderland City Council and the local Labour Party group, it does seem the future of the shipyard is far from safe. As has always been a distinct possibility for some time now, the 'Pallion Shipyard Studios' plan may not have been shelved after all, but that the owners were merely waiting for the outcome of the Crown Works Studios proposal first. It would make sense for it to be a separate business, given the specialist nature of a water tank based studio - but the 2 studio complexes would clearly work hand in hand. The companies involved at the time of its initial launch in November 2022 were Metalwork Pictures (USA), Broadwick Live (UK) and Kajima Corporation (Japan). A total lack of news since the end of 2022 to date gave the impression that this never took off - but the recent comments suggest, not guarantee though, otherwise. Therefore, thanks to certain individuals, it does seem as if this has been the plan all along, with the same individuals reporting it is now only a matter of time before 'Pallion Shipyard Studios' is officially announced. Despite this, we cannot confirm this and so it's possible this is simply to deter further campaigning and nothing more. However, we do think this is to be expected now and that this is the future for the shipyard - at least in some way. More when we have it...
