Sometimes, I think the best argument in favour of robots taking over human tasks is “humans”. We, humans, can do some dumb things. In my latest book I explain why we’ve become “dumb-stuck” - lacking the know-how and judgment to deal effectively with the numerous complex challenges in front of us. Outgoing editor-in-chief of the AFR, Michael Stutchbury, succinctly describes the latest in a suite of populist policies in Australia that undermine our prosperity. In doing so, he highlights a commonly held view - that governments are either unable or unwilling to resolve the problems we most care about.?(To their credit, BHP isn't seeking handouts to prop up their business, they're leaning into the solving their own problems.) In this, we’re all complicit. We’ve bought into a system in which consumers outrank citizens, the individual outranks the community, where we expect the government to be the banker and insurer of last resort. While these ideas may once have served us well, it is no longer true or tenable. Tomorrow, I'll post an article exploring our persistent problem of low productivity growth. [Episode 28] About a week ago, I posted a video about the rapper 2CHAINZ and his interaction with a Tesla's Optimus robot prototype at the We Robot conference. What seemed like a natural step in AI and robotics turned out to be merely a glimpse into the new future where the current robots where, in fact, remotely controlled by humans. ?? Now don't get me wrong, having sleek designed robots walking about in a see of people without any mishaps is pretty impressive on its own, but its also a reminder that we are in a growth and transition phase. That means that for most people, adopting new technology is met with "we'll wait and see." Do you know what better represents this? What makes it better? All these questions were in my head; all I could think of was A ROBOT. As we know an API is like a set of rules, protocols, and a tool helping two or multiple software connect. I see a robot in a similar way; a machine with so many codes written in its software to help people perform tasks, communicate information, deliver products, and so on.
