In our conversation, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and I discuss the importance of balance—even in the pursuit of silence and solitude. While silence can be powerful, too much of it, like too much socializing, can lead us away from the path of well-being. The key lies in finding the middle way. Stay tuned as we explore more insights in the upcoming clips. I recently completed reading "The Courage to Be Disliked." While the title and cover may suggest a psychological self-help book, it offers a refreshing philosophical perspective, diving into the Adlerian theory. The book's conversational style wasn't quite my best preference (maybe because I already have 24/7 inner conversations ??). One key idea that resonated with me is the concept of "Separation of Life Tasks." This notion emphasizes that each person has their own tasks, and it's not our responsibility to intervene in others' affairs. For instance, how others perceive us is not our task to worry about; it's up to them that have control over their thoughts. This idea may seem controversial, but rather than negatively affecting interpersonal relationships, it fosters trust among people. #adlerian_psychology #book_review #Seperation_of_tasks

A snippet about intuition. "Our intuition and intuitive knowing comes from a place of compassion and wanting the best for us. Even if that it guides us to do is something unknown or something we have not done before, intuition is ultimately not going to put us in the way of something that is physically harmful. Our intuitive knowing tells us it is going to be ok do the 'scary thing'." It really is time to reclaim your intuition. From the book 'Reclaim Your Intuition' by me. #reclaimYourIntuition #theIntuitionConnection #intuition #intuitiveLiving #soulfulLiving #theIntuitionCircle #intuitiveMentoring #oracleReadings

Reflecting on "Ullam Vilithathu Mella" – Then and Now. In 1996, when I first read "Ullam Vilithathu Mella" by Balakumaran, I was captivated by the rich exploration of human emotions and the subtle interplay of relationships. As a young professional navigating the early stages of my career, the novel's themes of love, pain, and the search for meaning resonated deeply with me. The characters' struggles and aspirations mirrored my own, and I found solace in Balakumaran’s portrayal of the tension between worldly desires and spiritual fulfillment. Fast forward to 2024, re-reading this novel has been a profound experience. With nearly three decades of personal and professional growth behind me, my perspective on the book has evolved. The philosophical reflections that once seemed abstract now hold a more tangible significance. The characters’ inner conflicts remind me of the many crossroads I've encountered in my own journey – choices that have shaped who I am today. What strikes me now is Balakumaran’s timeless ability to capture the essence of life's complexities. The themes that resonated with me in 1996 continue to hold relevance, but with a deeper understanding shaped by years of experience. The novel’s meditative pace, which I might have found slow in my younger years, now feels like a necessary pause – a chance to reflect on the ever-present duality of life. This re-reading has reminded me of the importance of revisiting old favorites. Books, like life, offer new insights with each encounter, and "Ullam Vilithathu Mella" has proven to be a rich source of wisdom that continues to evolve with time. #Books #Reflections #Balakumaran #LifeLessons #PersonalGrowth #ReadingJourney

?? Deep Dive into Mythology & Reflection through Mrityunjay ?? I’ve recently started reading Mrityunjay (Maha-Asura Series: Book 1) by Parakh Om Bhatt and Raj Javiya, and it's been an enthralling journey so far. The book portrays Lord Shiva in a unique, intense light, weaving in mythology with an imaginative narrative style. What fascinates me is how it delves into the philosophical aspects of life, death, and the eternal cycle of creation and destruction. In a world that is constantly moving forward, revisiting ancient wisdom is often the best way to gain new perspectives. This story is a reminder that leadership, power, and resilience aren't just about action—they're also about introspection and understanding the balance of life. As I explore these themes, I'm realizing how valuable this perspective can be in our fast-paced, ever-changing professional lives. Grateful to be on this journey of learning and reflection, and looking forward to uncovering more insights from this incredible read! #Mythologyinspiration #LearningThroughReading #ContinuousGrowth #Mrityunjay #ShivaWisdom #BooksAndGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment

When you find that book that speaks to the entire you in one! I love the intersections of multiple thoughts like science and spirituality that seems opposite; it fosters a more profound connection between our inner selves and the world. To me science is spiritual the attempt to quantify the unquantifiable. Both explore and understanding of limits. I freakin love diversity in thought and how it applies in so many context; the inner and the outer. As above as below. #upcyclinglimits #besukha

Day 6 of the #75harchchallenge with Myth = Mithya by Devdutt Pattanaik . This is an engaging exploration of Indian mythology. The book starts with the idea that myths are not false but are ways to understand deeper truths about life and society. Pattanaik explains how myths shape our culture and beliefs. One of the best parts of the book is how Pattanaik connects ancient myths to modern life. He shows how the lessons from these stories are still relevant today. For example, he discusses how the myth of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, reflects our attitudes towards money and prosperity. It is a great read for anyone interested in Indian mythology or looking for a new perspective on ancient stories. Pattanaik's clear writing and insightful connections make this book both educational and enjoyable. LinkedIn Guide to Creating #bookreview #day6

Here’s 5 reasons why you shouldn’t read this book called ?????? ???????????????????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????? by ?????????? ??????????????. i. why to struggle with deep questions of existence and the meaning of life when you can blissfully scroll through Instagram? Nietzsche’s and Kundera’s exploration of eternal return and the “lightness" versus "weight" would burden you thinking over significance of every mundane decision. For example, imagine the horror of realising that choosing a McDonald’s burger, Coke, Oreo biscuits and ignoring the ethical implications of your choices could symbolize the weight of your existence? Instead of simply satisfying your cravings, you’re forced to confront whether your consumption contributes to global issues, such as the current genocide. Who wants to grapple with such heavy moral dilemmas when all you want is a quick bit to eat? ii. 300 pages of infidelities? the messiness of love affairs and jealousies? No thanku! Why expose to a narrative that explores the vulnerability, intimacy and individual views on relationships when it’s far better to stick to your cliche rom-coms where everything gets resolved in 90 minutes with a laugh track. iii. karenin, the dog. Because animals shouldn’t break you heart but this story fails at that. Really would have helped if the doesthedogdie.com had a trigger warning ?? iv. to avoid the rabbit hole of Intellectualism. It inspires you to explore the heavy weight of philosophy. Next thing you know, you’re attending philosophy lectures and writing essays on existentialism. Better to avoid that slippery slope altogether. v. the political allegory of the Soviet invasion of Czechosolvakia direct impact on characters lives, reveals the intimate impact of historical events. I guess we have enough drama offered by the news channels and reality TVs. #milankundera #bookreview #theunbearablelightnessofbeing #czechbooks #Existentialism #PhilosophicalFiction #ModernClassic #Bookworm #ReadingList #BookRecommendation #MustRead Antarleena Basu, Ph.D.
