WSJ article today ranking US airports. Personally, I rank Detroit near the top as a place to connect (I rarely start there). I would put Minneapolis higher up than it fell, despite a sprawling/confusing layout. Of airports I fly through, the three NYC airports and Chicago richly deserve to be at the bottom of the barrel, where they are. LAX is also a hellhole (especially the prison-camp-guard TSA setup) and deserves bottom of the barrel too, although somewhat improved recently (restaurants and terminal areas). I recently flew through Denver...not impressed. Overcrowded, confusing, poor signage, and overpriced rental cars. I agree Atlanta is surprisingly efficient, considering its huge size and flight volume. https://lnkd.in/esgkJHs

Tomorrow I’m flying United to Newark where I’ll sit most of the day waiting to go Lufthansa to Berlin. I hate United. Of the airports I’ve been to on your list, I’d agree!

SEATAC is not great.? Huge security lines.? DTW should definitely be higher on this list.

Wholeheartedly agree with you, Rob. I flew from CVG to ATW and other domestic locations weeky for nearly 3 years. ATW is charming. I would put DTW above MSP for convenience and is a very pleasant place for a layover. MSP is fine once you know the lay of the land. Atlanta is remarkably efficient, just a lot of walking for fit bit lovers.

I agree about Detroit's airport. For its city-like size, it was really easy to navigate. I have always thought Phoenix Intl was the easiest. Denver on top is a bit of a question on just who did this research. Subjective, I suppose. Denver was the most confusing airport I have ever been through. I definitely agree that the signage sucks and is largly confusing.

Interesting list. I would put LAX at the bottom of the top 50, not just the top 20, but that's just me. I live in the PHX metro area, so agree it is one of the best. I think DTW should be much higher up as it's super easy to figure out and navigate...two straight, long terminals. I like MSP as well.?

Agree DIA isn't a lot of fun, but the RTD train to Denver helps- a little . In general both SFO and SeaTac are very much also rans for crowding, inaccessibility, flight delays and prices. If you are able to fly into EWR by midday, it seems better, but like JFK, having your car service find you is hit or miss.

Completely agree. I flew into Denver nearly monthly for years... "convenient" is not a word I would have used to describe it.

It's funny, I came across an article yesterday on my commute home from Business Insider ranking Denver in the bottom 15;? https://www.businessinsider.com/worst-airports-america-the-points-guy-2018-11#2-laguardia-airport-14 No surprise that our NYC area airports round out the very worst! As for the best, Tampa needs to be near the top if not #1?IMO.
