Calling all RTWS alumni and supporters! The Rutgers Road to Wall Street Program is currently reaching out to professional mentors for our sophomore students! Our goal for the mentorship is for our students to gain an understanding of the finance industry, practice the soft skills that will help them succeed in networking and interviews, and build a strong relationship with their mentor. This program will run from September 2024- January 2025. If you are interested in participating and/or learning more, please contact us at [email protected]!

"There was a student whose story was just like mine...[the ad] said 'Make Someday Today,' and I signed up for classes the next day." Love the power of this story from Atheena Martinez, an adult student at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona. Atheena's story highlights why National Skills Coalition does the work we do: ? Digital equity: She describes the challenges of using a cell phone to complete college classes, until she got a loaner laptop from Pima ? Integrated Education and Training (IET): Atheena explains the power of a program model that allows students to obtain a GED/high school equivalency while simultaneously earning an industry-recognized credential ? Creative approaches to financial aid: Atheena's story illustrates the importance of financial aid for high-quality shorter term programs -- something that Pima temporarily solved by blending WIOA and other funding streams, but could be permanently solved if Congress passes Short-Term Pell. ? Parents as role models: I love the photo of Atheena's son trying on her graduation cap and gown! Over and over, we hear how parents' motivation for returning to school is to set a good example for their children and to inspire them. It's so beautiful to see this in action. https://lnkd.in/eKqXmMxV ?
