On #WorldMentalHealthDay, 10/10/24, I would like to invite you to join me on October 18th as I discuss the impact that living with a rare and chronic disease, such as IgG4-related disease, can have on an individual's mental health. During this discussion, we will explore important topics, including the barriers and stigma faced when addressing one's mental health, effective coping strategies and how mental health can evolve throughout one's journey. As a caregiver to my husband who lives with IgG4-RD, I have firsthand experience navigating the challenges of supporting someone with a chronic illness. I believe it is crucial that we have open and honest conversations about the mental health implications. By sharing stories and insights, we can work towards greater understanding, empathy and support for the IgG4-RD community. I hope you will join me on October 18th to witness this meaningful dialogue. Together, we can help to remove the stigma of mental health struggles and empower those affected by chronic diseases to prioritize their overall well-being.
