I’ve been reflecting on my journey so far… After more than 20 years in bookkeeping, I had been quietly working towards my exit from corporate life. The demands of the corporate world no longer aligned with the person I had become. I craved more freedom, purpose, and the chance to work in a way that felt authentic to me. Then, the pivotal moment came - I was made redundant. This was the push I didn’t know I needed, it accelerated my plans and put me on a fast track to the escape I'd been working towards. Instead of seeing it as a setback, I embraced it as the opportunity to build something meaningful. That’s when my plan to start Journey Bookkeeping and Accounts became a reality. My vision was to create a bookkeeping practice that not only helps businesses with their finances but also provides clarity and support to women who, like me, are navigating pivotal life changes. I’m passionate about helping overwhelmed business owners understand their numbers, allowing them to focus on what matters most in their lives and businesses. Starting my own business has given me the freedom to align my work with my values - empathy, clarity, and supportiveness. It’s been a transformative journey, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
