Your business is stuck! Whether you're a single-person startup or a multi-million dollar corporation, you have gaps in your business operations. These gaps could look like: ???? You're still acting as an Operator, not as an Owner: working in the business rather than on the business. ???? You're not choosing the right people for your team and aren't sure how to fix the problem. Is it you? Is it them? ???? Your operations are messy, with chaotic behind-the-scenes processes that you try to ignore. ???? As you acquire more clients, your quality of delivery drops and your long-term clients are noticing. Or even something else. Whatever Gaps are there…are costing you time, efficiency, and profits. You could fight against them (and invite burnout in)…or you could bring riseCOO in to find your Gaps, create processes that fix them, and increase your revenue 3-5x within 6 months. Which do you choose?

?????????????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????? ???????? ???????????????? Think bigger, but not faster: scaling too fast can be a disaster. While it’s tempting to grow your business as quickly as possible, rushing can lead to severe problems like cash flow issues, quality control failures, and staff burnout. I’ve seen it firsthand. When I launched my first startup, the excitement of rapid growth was intoxicating. But soon, our quality dipped, customer complaints soared, and our finances took a hit. The solution? Controlled, sustainable growth. By focusing on steady expansion, you ensure that your infrastructure, team, and resources can keep up. This approach allows you to maintain quality, manage cash flow, and keep your team motivated and engaged. Avoiding the pitfalls of over-scaling means fewer sleepless nights worrying about payroll and fewer angry customer emails. Start small: set manageable growth targets, track your progress, and adjust as needed. With this method, you’ll enjoy growth that is lasting. How do you ensure your business grows sustainably?

Hot take: Sometimes it makes sense to scale DOWN. 2 years ago, we had over 70 team members. Today we have 30. And we're in much better shape now than before. How? We grew too fast. We weren't paying attention to the little expenses here and there that kept adding up. We weren't focusing on the right things like incredible customer service. So we scaled way down. And it was the exact right thing to do. Our business has never been healthier. And that's what it should be about. Not about how big we can make this thing. What do you think about scaling down? Do you think it's ever the right thing? ___ ?? I'm Amy Foley, Founder & CEO of Inbound Back Office and passionate about helping business owners scale. ?? I was the bottleneck in my own business. I thought I was doing everything right: ?????? Hitting consistent $20K+ months. ?????? Handling every client interaction myself. ?????? Keeping my hands in every task to make sure it was perfect. But here’s the truth no one told me: I was the reason my business couldn’t grow. I didn’t trust anyone else to do the work “as well as I could.” So I micromanaged. I double-checked. I jumped in when things got tough. It felt productive. But the reality? I was: ?? Burning out from working 12-hour days. ?? Missing growth opportunities because I was too deep in the weeds. ?? Plateauing revenue because there were only so many hours I could work. One day, I realized: Successful businesses don’t scale because the founder works harder. They scale because the founder works smarter. So I did two things: 1. I built systems that could run without me. 2. I hired and delegated to people I could trust. It wasn’t easy at first. But here’s what happened: ? My team started delivering BETTER results than I could alone. ? I reclaimed hours every week to focus on growth, strategy, and vision. ? My revenue grew—and I didn’t have to sacrifice my time to make it happen. If you feel like you’re the bottleneck in your own success, you’re not alone. The problem isn’t that you’re not working hard enough. It’s that you need the right systems, team, and trust to take you further. When I fixed this, I unlocked freedom and growth. And so can you. Takeaway: Scaling isn’t about doing more. It’s about setting up systems so you can do less—and achieve more. Curious how to get there? Drop me a message, and let’s talk about how to remove your bottlenecks.

What bothers me about entrepreneurship and the health & performance industry is that people still believe… ‘hustle culture’ and ‘grinding’ propel a business forward. Yes, it can help you get started, but it’s not sustainable in the long run. I can guarantee you if you keep that up for 6 months you are extremely likely to come into multiple health problems. I’m all for working hard, but that’s just the bare minimum. It’s about utilising your tools and systems, prioritising your health, mind, body, sleep, and productivity to stay ahead of your competitors. Of course, there won't always be balance, as you often work in sprints and then have downtime. However, working 24/7 until you burn out is a one-way ticket to suffocate your business. I don’t know about you, but I’m interested to hear your thoughts on this topic?

Scaling your business is hard. (But here's your GPS for growth.) 1. Streamline Operations: Simplify processes. Automate tasks. But don't lose the personal touch. 2. Leverage Technology: Use productivity tools. Make data-driven decisions. But don't ignore human insight. 3. Build a Strong Team: Hire for vision. Invest in growth. But don't overlook cultural fit. 4. Expand Your Network: Connect with peers. Learn from others. But don't neglect existing ties. 5. Focus on Customer Experience: Deliver top-notch service. Exceed expectations. But don't ignore feedback. Scaling is like climbing a mountain. You need: a map, the right gear, and a good team. — Building a people business, one smile at a time. ?? The day I realised my business was running me, not the other way around… Drowning in emails. Buried under tasks. Missing deadlines. My dream of entrepreneurial freedom had turned into a nightmare of endless work. Something had to change. I started small, documenting my daily tasks and looking for patterns. Slowly, I began to see the interconnected web of my business operations. I identified repetitive tasks. Automation became my friend. Delegation, my hero. Each small change freed up a bit more of my time and mental energy. I created standard operating procedures for common processes. Systems emerged. As the systems took shape, I noticed a shift in my day-to-day work. Fires resolved themselves. My team became more autonomous, needing less direct oversight. I found myself with pockets of free time – a foreign concept just months before. Ideas flourished. With this newfound time, I could focus on strategic growth and innovation. The business began to grow, but my stress levels didn't rise with it. Our systems scaled seamlessly. Time off. Without my laptop. The business not only survived without me – it thrived. That's when I knew: I had built a true system, not just a job for myself. The journey wasn't easy or quick, but the destination was worth every step. Now, I help other entrepreneurs build systems that set them free. Because a business should work for you, not the other way around. Start today. Future you will thank you for it. - Ready to supercharge your business growth? Share this with a fellow founder or entrepreneur and follow Ash Stephenson for more. Want to know why you're stuck at $1-2M? Your delivery is random. Your processes depend on mood. Your systems live in your head. Your team waits for answers. This isn't a business. It's organized chaos. Million-dollar companies need: Million-dollar operations. Million-dollar systems. Million-dollar thinking. Because scale doesn't come from hustle. It comes from structure. #founder #growth #unstuck ?

?? That feeling when you find the person to do the thing you can't ?? You don't know what you don't know, right? I was chatting to a friend yesterday who's in the early stages of setting up a business, and is (very sensibly) looking for help on the bits that fall outside their areas of expertise. The jump into entrepreneurship is scary enough - why make it harder by trying to do everything ourselves? And yet... in my experience, that's what an awful lot of new business owners do. We keep our heads down and rely on Google, or try to adapt things from our former lives to suit our new (and totally different) business rather than putting our hands up and asking for help. Whether it's out of fear of looking stupid, or worry about cost, chances are that muddling through a DIY solution will take longer, be much more stressful and cost more than calling in an expert in whatever area it is you're struggling with. If you're new to employing people, or if people management isn't your thing, I'd love to have a chat about how I can help - drop me an email at [email protected] or call 07946330025. #hrconsultancy #smallbusinessowners #newcastleupontyne
