The goal at the beginning of every sports season is to win a championship. It's why the Seahawks game yesterday was an interesting one, because that goal wasn't attainable. The outcome of the game didn't affect their post-season hopes. The game technically didn't mean anything. It's why players and coaches talked about finding different motivation leading into the final game of the season. For some that was personal records, for others it was getting to 10 wins. It's a good reminder as we start working toward our 2025 goals that you might need one or two different motivators throughout the year. Your "championship goal" might be too far in the future to keep you or your team motivated day to day. It could be worth a conversation with your team this week and a way to think outside the box scores to make sports useful in business and improve communication. #smalltalk #conversationstarters #motivation #businesscommunication

"I can do a lot of things with the basketball, a lot of things... That is the one thing that I cannot do. That's one of the most embarrassing things. You got me nervous just thinking about it: spinning the ball on my finger! All my life, that's the one thing that I can't figure out." Steph Curry This is a fantastic example for every player out there, and even more so for the younger generation, who idolize Steph Curry. It shows them that even if you are one of the best players to ever play the game, the best 3-point shooter in National Basketball Association (NBA) history, the one who just amazed the entire world by his performances both in the semi-final and the final of the last Olympic Games, you don't have to be perfect at everything. Spinning the ball on a finger is fun for a lot of basketball players, yet it is completely useless on the court! Learn how to become great at skills that will help you stand out from others and accept not being great at everything. Players who perform at the highest level, have defined their bread and butter and don't let their weaknesses become liabilities. #themindgameofbasketball #skills #classic #useless #fun #message #strengths #weaknesses #breadandbutter #championsmindset #legend #liabilities #performance #mentalskills #playersdevelopment #awareness
