As a long time JLC admirer, re-appointment of M.Lambert as the CEO is an interesting move. Partly, must be due to very little innovation at JLC. Polaris is very mainstream and dare to say boring. Re-editions of Reverso can only take you so far.? Hoping that M. Lambert's trusted business acumen will drive one of my most favorite brands to more success! VC definitely needs more creativity. You can profit only so far on Overseas and Patrimony. Though horology and finishing are impeccable, need more oomph to attract a wider audience.? Starting with your 'why' isn't enough, folks. I still remember when we first started hiring at Qurex, each new team member felt like a validation of our vision. But now, at 30+ strong, it's a whole new ball game. Here's the thing: Your 'why' got you started, but your team's 'why' will take you forward. I used to think culture was just about cool offices and fun Fridays. But, I was wrong to the power of infinity. It's about understanding what drives each person on your team. Their dreams, their fears, their 'why'. Some days, it feels intimidating. You're not just responsible for your idea anymore but for the careers and growth of every person who trusted you with their professional journey. But when you crack it? Fun LinkedIn "wrapped" from my co-founder Ish Baid. Wayside is my ~first~ software company, and the act of starting it has been one of the most intriguing, dynamic, and educational experiences of my entire life. There's the building - raw end-to-end product development where you control every detail, from the user flow, to the backend infrastructure, to the security. There's the people - understanding the key pain points of an organization, how to align your company with your customer's goals, and avoiding distractions to focus narrowly on providing a valuable end result for your customer. There's the infinite game - Ish/I are in it for the long haul, and building Wayside is indefinite. Compared to standard SWE promotion ladder, the levers you can pull on the machine are vastly expanded. Raise money? Bring on resources? Who are we building for? Which features are top priority and why? How do we balance long-term vision with immediate customer pull? These questions are constant and vast, but the continual resolution to action is teaching me a ton about building an effective organization. We've really started to hit our stride as a team, and I'm incredibly optimistic about where we are heading in 2025.
