Early in my career, I was fortunate to have a mentor who guided me through the complexities of architecture. Their wisdom and experience were invaluable, helping me avoid common pitfalls and encouraging me to take risks. Mentorship is not just about passing on knowledge; it inspires confidence and fosters growth. Today, I try to pay it forward by mentoring aspiring architects. Seeing others succeed and knowing that I played a small part in their journey is rewarding. Career growth doesn’t stop. Being relevant means there is always something new to learn. But when you are busy with a million emails, multi-disciplinary projects and back to back meetings, it’s easy to let CPD opportunities pass you by. That’s why I’m delighted I’ll be taking part in training today attending the RIBA CPD Forum. It’s great to have a chance to invest in my own development. I’ll be learning new ways to use the platform to provide the best, most relevant, CPD I can to our partners. So it’s a day for my own personal development but means I’ll be thinking about passing on that learning to others too. Architectural mentor 7: Narrative Practice, an architectural mentoring and research platform with the main objective of improving diversity and representation

Antoinette Trimble and I have facilitated two sessions of "Creating Strong Relationships for Great Design Outcomes" so far. For most people, signing up for a course can cause uncertainty. What is it we'll actually be covering? So we made a little video to walk you through the content. Here's some feedback we've received since launching our program: ? When we asked participants to rate their overall experience after the course on a scale of 1-10, our average score has been 96.7% satisfaction rate. When we ask what learnings were most valuable, the top response themes have included: ?? How to better use open questions to navigate conflict and tension in relationships ?? Getting more clear on my values and how I can live them ?? Having a better understanding of trust and how to practically and intentionally build it in relationships ??
