Just returned from #SHSMD on Tuesday, still processing all the information —so many incredible speakers shared experiences that can truly benefit the broader healthcare community. Here’s a recap of Days 1 and 2: How Will Health Systems Grow in 2025? Jocelyn Herrington with Advisory Board emphasized that growth isn’t always about getting bigger, sometimes it’s about becoming stronger. This calls for creativity within the systems already in place. She shared several inspiring examples, with Gundersen Health System's commitment to renewable energy standing out. By reducing energy costs through sustainable practices, they saw such success that they launched Envision, an initiative to advise other health systems on sustainable energy solutions. Building Relationships Before Health Events Ramon Soto, CMO at Northwell Health, made a powerful statement: "We need to develop a relationship with people before the health event." His words prompted immediate action from the social media team. Cori Clancy spearheaded a TikTok initiative through Northwell's content arm, The Well, collaborating with Courtney Fowler at Revmade and Raeya Swope with Kylee Social. The program's unexpected success didn’t come just from dancing doctors (which there were), but from a straightforward video explaining what happens during a mammogram. Its viral reach highlighted a key insight: people are searching for transparency and clear information not just scrolling for entertainment. If health systems aren’t leveraging platforms like TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts to share accurate information, others will fill that gap. Northwell's efforts have reached millions, providing crucial guidance and reassurance for health and safety decisions. The Impact of Management on Mental Health Did you know, "That 69% of people say their manager has a greater impact on their mental health than their therapist or doctor—and it's equal to the impact of their partner."? Bridgette McCullough, MPH and Morgan Weber from OhioHealth combated this, by creating a program to coach managers in leadership skills as a way to promote mental well-being for all employees. By empowering leaders to better support their teams through the constant changes in healthcare, they fostered a healthier workplace. This session resonated with me, as it aligns with BrandActive's commitment to investing in leadership development. I’m looking forward to exploring this topic further through the podcast the team shared, Leading to Well-Being. Last but not least, BrandActive's Evening Event A day full of learning, calls for a rooftop drink to unwind. Great to see some of our clients and new faces for a cozy night out enjoying Denver's fresh air and mountain views.
Thanks for the shoutout Claar Ennis! I think that’s a better summary than I could’ve come up with. ?? So glad it resonated when you. Here is a direct link to the podcast!
This all sounds great, Claar… but tell me more about the BA penguin. That really got my attention!
Beautifully captured, Claar Ennis!! It’s an honor to work alongside changemakers like Northwell Health on initiates that are reaching and impacting real people online ??
Thanks for the mention, Claar Ennis. This project is incredibly meaningful and is an honor for our team to be a part of.

5 个月Wow - powerful summary Claar! Especially love Ramon Soto's quote. That extended view of the patient journey will have a lasting impact on Northwell Health's patient experience.
