Great lecture at Warwick Medical School on the science of lay responder CPR. My takeaways: ?? 80% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home - you are much more likely to be applying your CPR skills to a family member or friend than to a stranger. ?? Bystanders performing CPR requires a lot more than training in the techniques - cultural norms, feelings of self-efficacy, and the ability to recognise cardiac arrest all come into play. ?? Aftercare for bystanders who have delivered CPR is important, feelings of "what just happened?" are normal even for those with training.

What do you think of when you hear the word "mid"? My kids use it as slang when answering "how was your day?" It indicates not good, not bad for them. There is an ongoing discussion/push to move away from using "mid" when talking about PAs and NPs. We are not "mid" level practitioners. We are skilled and take pride in offering a HIGH level of care.
