??????Keeping your loved ones well fed with nourishing, healthy food can keep them out of hospital ?????? A person suffering from malnutrition is likely to visit their GP twice as much as those who are well-nourished. They are also expected to experience longer hospital stays, because they won't be able to keep their strenght, which in turn means their bodies are less able to fight off pesky illnesses. Malnutrition can be caused by many things, from poor eating habits, lack of appetite caused by disease, physical disabilities, cognitive impairment, depression, isolation and even fear of falling ?? that list is longer than we might have originally thought, right?! What if I suspect my loved one isn't eating enough? ?? sometimes, eating little and often can be better than full meals ?? eat together ?? eat at set times if a routine helps your loved one ?? make food as soft as possible for loved ones with chewing or dental problems Got any questions or tips of your own? Leave them in the comments below ?? #Malnutrition #HomeInstead #HomeInsteadUK #EatWell #Seniors

1 个月Interesting because I have been at a local long-term care residence from your company. I have witnessed more problems than not. This includes changing menu items by the service team (not management or dietician). For example, giving a residence who was diabetic a high-sugar dessert changing residents' non-chewing food items giving them chew food and forcing them to eat or go hungry on more than one occasion. The nursing staff and P.S.Ws give preference to certain residents - depending on financial status or family financial status vs, those who are on government assistance for housing. Including not caring properly when feeding -if even feeding. So I would definitely not recommend the home nor the company if all homes are like this. They too many liars who cover things up to cover the many issues/problems to cover their own butts. Not a trust worthy company or home. Should fire almost all Administaration/Management and many staff .
