From Dream Graduation to a Dream Career ??????? In April 2021, I graduated from my dream university, BYU-Idaho, through BYU-Pathway Worldwide. Like many students during the pandemic, I couldn’t attend my graduation in person, but that didn’t make it any less special. Just a month later, I welcomed my little prince into the world ????, and I made the decision to pause my professional career to fully embrace motherhood. As much as I loved every moment with my son, I often wondered: How can I restart my career without compromising my role as a mother? Unfortunately, the traditional workforce rarely offers a balanced solution. Many maternity policies lack true empathy for working parents. After many prayers, remote work became my answer ????. Thanks to companies like Springboard, I re-entered the workforce without guilt, balancing my personal goals while being present for my child. Remote work isn’t just a convenience, it’s a humane and thoughtful solution for parents who value both career growth and conscious parenting. I love my job, and I’m excited to keep growing professionally while being an active part of my child’s journey. ?????????? #WorkFromHome #RemoteWork #CareerGrowth #MotherhoodAndCareer #ParentingWithPurpose #WomenInTech #BYUIdaho #BYUPathway #WorkLifeBalance #Springboard #MomsWhoLead

Who would've thought that my years spent nurturing young minds in early childhood education would prepare me for the world of human resources, people and culture? While the settings may differ, the core principles remain the same: understanding human behavior, fostering growth, and creating positive environments. Just like in a classroom, the workplace needs to be a safe, stimulating space where individuals can thrive. By applying my knowledge of child development, motivation, and social interaction, I'm excited to contribute to creating happier, more productive workplaces. Let's break down the barriers between industries and recognize the transferable skills that can lead to fulfilling career transitions. #careeradvice #careertransition #earlychildhoodeducation #humanresources #industrialpsychology #workplaceculture

Are "family scripts" – a family’s perceptions of the working world transferred down from generation to generation, outlining the appropriate career paths, educational choices, and even life goals - suitable in the global embrace of modernity? Could it be that parents should listen to their children more to ensure a career pursuit that could be accompanied by a sense of happiness? Where the younger generations dare to defy familial norms and expectations, individuals can begin to assert their own courses towards success. Midlife is often when you start to realize that - while the external success you worked so hard for in your 20s and 30s was genuinely exciting - it only goes so far. Those promotions, raises, and titles felt amazing —and they should! You worked really hard for those achievements. But midlife is a time for many women where you start to see that those external achievements and the comforts they bring only go so far. Midlife is a time for many to realize that on the one hand, you don’t have all the years in the world left. But on the other hand, if you’re lucky, you’ve got over a decade (or more) left in your working years. So, what do you do with that time? Do you stay in a career where you keep checking the boxes of external success but leaves you drained and uninspired? Or do you finally give yourself permission to pursue a career that lights you up—something that feels deeply meaningful? A career where you begin and end your day feeling creative and inspired. A career where you have energy left over to spend on the other parts of life that deeply matter to you. Here’s the thing: Midlife isn’t about coasting to the finish line of your career. It’s about realizing that the same ambition that fueled your early career can now be channeled into something deeper, more aligned with who you’ve become. You’ve already shown you can achieve. Now it’s time to show you can evolve. If you’re a professional woman in midlife who’s READY shift from external measures of success to a pursuing work that aligns with who you truly are, head to the link in my bio and schedule a no pressure 15 minute call! https://lnkd.in/dGPxzMnq #careerchange #midlife #midlifecareerchange #corporate #corporatewomen #careerclarity #career #corporatemom #midlifewomen

Why are workers quietly quitting? Quite quitting is staying in your job but doing the bare minimum. It involves treading that fine line between not getting fired and not doing more than the lowest acceptable minimum standard. Burnout, toxic management and a lack of meaningful work are three main reasons workers “quietly quit”, according to research by Gallup. I can see how people may have reached this point—they believe that they have put more into their jobs than they have earned and, therefore, want to redress the balance and change their psychological contract?with their employers. The economic toll of 'quiet quitting' is staggering, estimated to cost the UK economy a whopping 11 per cent of GDP, or £257 billion annually. The phenomenon is not entirely original either—production line workers often went on a ‘go-slow’ to protest, deliberately working slowly to create problems for their employers. The personal toll of 'quiet quitting', though, is significant. By doing the minimum, you risk a bright and glowing reference about your performance that you will undoubtedly need. You risk resentment from colleagues when they see you not pulling your weight in the team. Most importantly, you risk damaging your own self-worth and self-esteem. No one feels great about themselves after a day’s work if they didn’t put in all that they could and feel proud of their contribution.?That feeling of ‘I am just getting away with it’ is a heavy burden to carry. Instead of silently enduring 'quiet quitting ', take a proactive approach. Address the issue - talk to a manager or colleague about how you are feeling. The right answer might be to find a new challenge, take a break or even quit where that’s an option. But by taking action, you can avoid the inevitable collateral damage that will come from doing it quietly.
