We are protecting natural ecosystems of West Africa. In Douala, Cameroon. This vibrant and diverse region is struggling, lacking good waste management and access to clean drinking water. In fact, safe water is often only available as packaged plastic bottles. And more packaged water equals more mismanaged waste. Repurpose Globals Project Sanguesa works to tackle the growing plastic bottle waste. We work with informal collectors to clean up hotspots, also going on boats to clean up plastic in rivers. Before all this waste flows into the ocean, the sorted plastic bottles are recycled into plastic straps, which are then used by industries locally. A truly circular system. What's more, we track and verify every piece of plastic with retraced technology, so the reliable data is visible to brands that fund this plastic waste recovery project.
