Many moons ago, during the Corona Pandemic, we addressed the issue of mental health very intentionally ?? . Countless companies partnered with mental health providers, discussed their new benefits in townhalls, and were quite understanding that people may have been struggling with loneliness, insecurity, loss, or isolation. Now, we have mostly reverted back to pre-pandemic ways, with mental health awareness also slipping into the background of our collective consciousness. Some companies have even rolled back their mental health benefits, leaving many employees without a platform to discuss mental health struggles. ? In participating in the Hacking HR panel?- Dialogue Without Stigma: Creating a Culture of Open Conversations on Mental Health, we will be discussing how to create a safe space within company cultures, openly discuss mental health with safety, and how to take the necessary steps to help people in need. Today, on World Mental Health Day, we stand together to celebrate mental well-being, within our personal lives and in our workplaces. This day is about fostering a culture of empathy and acceptance and opening the door to resources. When we embrace mental wellbeing as a crucial component of our health, we can destigmatize biases, promote better understanding and work towards supporting one another during our toughest moments. At Google, we recognize that people often start their journey to wellness on the internet, and in moments of crisis, access to high-quality information is paramount. To help people get the resources they need, on Search and on YouTube we match common searches related to mental health with links to local hotlines and support groups.
