?? I have an ask from my network!! I'm looking to speak with a few people at start-up/growing B2B orgs who have a Sales team and have either: - Recently made their first Marketing hire - Have started to consider adding a Marketing hire/function, OR - Have not yet added a marketing role (and don't use agencies). ? If you are or know someone on the Sales team or executive team at a company like that, I'd love to chat! This is NOT a sales chat; I'm just looking to ask a few questions. Please send me a DM or tag below in the comments if you can help! ??

Just saw a list of 500+ "marketers" looking for their next role to find someone who has relevant experience in community engagement and there was a jumble of titles that could mean a variety of different things depending on the company and industry: "Sales Administrator" "Client Solutions Architect" "Customer Experience Director" along with the usual "Strategic Marketing Manager" and "Growth Marketer." I find it interesting how many people consider themselves to be in marketing but also can see the difficulty in finding the type of role that fits what you want to do. And the flip side—how are companies hiring for marketing roles?? Are they missing out on the right person because they're weeding out based on job title?

?? We are hiring for a sales leader, tell all your friends ?? Seeking a VP of Sales to lead Stacker sales efforts and make me go umbrella shopping. JD linked in comments, but tl/dr, I want: 1) Someone that understands our customer and will take our process + pitch to the next level. Experience and rolodex from selling into content/marketing/pr at enterprise size brands is a big want, not necessarily a must-have. But I need confidence this person will push us forward in our understanding of customer problems, content marketing/PR trends, and where we fit in. 2) 80% team & process development, 20% rainmaker. You will be responsible for taking our sales team to the next level. You will also be responsible for setting the bar, and driving big conversations that I get to brag about to the company and my friends. 3) Understands the editorial nuance that is Stacker. Stacker is only as good as the content we source from partners - we are not a SaaS product that can be sold to every company with a corporate blog. My biggest fear is we bring in a rainmaker that can close deals, but doesn't understand the nuance of what makes a great long term customer that thrives on our platform. You do not need an editorial background, but you do need to have a real appreciation for media + journalism. JD + application link in comments. Spread the word. --- Fine print: best way to apply is through the link in comments (I am not the hiring manager!) - but if you do feel so compelled to reach out to me, best way ti impress me is to give me 3 bullets on why you meet the above criteria (or feel free to AMA!)

You're a leader in charge of demand generation, and: - Spending hours each week organising leads. - Writing copy. - Preparing campaigns. - Replying to interested prospects. You're wasting your time. And if no ones doing the above... that's a differen't conversation. You're job as a leader should be to lead. - Improving processes. - Managing your team. - Talking to prospects and clients. - Executing on plans. - Closing more deals. Outbound is hard. Don't make it harder by overwhelming your self with tasks.

When hiring a marketing agency, here are a few things you need to have a deep understanding of when vetting a potential partner: Finding an agency is EASY finding a great agency is HARD. 1. WHO will you actually be working with? Oftentimes in the sales process, you'll talk to the smartest or one of the smartest people or people within the company. This can be an indicator of the quality, but one of the biggest complaints I hear from brands is that they went from an A-level talent in the sales process to a very junior-level talent or intern. 2. If you do find out you're assigned to someone with less experience, this isn't a reason to say no immediately. When this happens you need to make sure the agency has amazing SYSTEMS and PROCESSES in place and that you understand and believe in those. Here's a real-world example: Brock Purdy is an AMAZING QB for the San Francisco 49ers and he's proven that. However, he was very "junior-level" on paper when he began starting (he was a rookie and the last pick in the draft). But he was plugged into an amazing system and has thrived. The same can be true when hiring an agency. 3. Regardless of your situation above, I'd ALWAYS ask to talk to some current clients. They don't have an incentive to sell you on the agency so you'll get it straight from them. Hope this helps!

Sales often isn't synonymous with being a team player, and it baffles me. There are 2 skills that I require every sales executive that I hire to have: ?? Hunger ?? Being a team player A lot of skills can be taught, but I can't teach either of these. Why? Let's break them down. Hunger is innate. Natural ambition is required in sales. If I hire a salesperson that isn't hungry because I see potential, I'll always end up believing I can somehow help them develop that ambition. Wasted energy. Many argue that being a team player can be taught. I'll admit that it can; in a child. But, not in an adult. One's inability to be a team player is often caused by character traits that cannot be fixed with coaching. If you're not a great team player, your likelihood to succeed in sales long term is diminished dramatically. Being a team player means you are great with: ? communication ? accountability ? optimism ? collaboration ? leadership ? conflict management You have to be hungry to succeed in sales. You also have to be an incredible team player. ?????????????????? ?????????????????? ?????? ???? ?????????????? ?????????????????? ???????? ???? ????????????, ???? ???????????????????? ???????? ???????????? ?????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????? ???? ?????????? & ??????????????????. DM me with your resume or tag a rockstar below! *1099 role *hiring immediately *Influencer marketing experience a plus *must LOVE the ambiguity and excitement of "start-up" world I'd hire these two team players that crushed puzzle making...but child labor laws... ?? ____ www.angelevenson.com
