“It wasn’t the way it was planned- but the plan is the way it was meant to be.” Kendall Toole In 2020, I bought a peloton… and it changed my life. In 4 short years it has helped me: ^ Live and work through a global pandemic with 3 small children and a husband in college athletics. ^ Advocate for social justice at work and in my community. ^ Build a F500 brand into a sustainable materials company. ^ Process my dad’s stroke and his current state of vascular dementia. ^ Spread my wings in my career. ^ Learn to run a Corporate Foundation. ^ Earn a certificate in Sustainability Leadership from Harvard. ^ Build a Corporate Sustainability function from scratch. ^ Travel. ^ Move my parents and brother from their ‘forever home’ in Northern California to my neighborhood in FL. ^ Cheer on my husband and his team to the Top of college soccer. ^ Craft GHG Reduction Strategies. ^ Educate executives. ^ Build teams. ^ Advocate for my brother and all people with Down syndrome. ^ Help friends and family who suffer with mental health. ^ Question the impact I make at work. ^ Dream bigger. ^ Believe in serendipity. ^ Bet on myself… The journey is what makes you strong. I went ahead and watched your suggestion of Jamie Miller's Ted Ed talk on Biomimicry. He says "if you don't know what your philosophy of design is, you are probably relying on the status quo. Think of it as a car, your philosophy is the steering wheel. If you don't have a steering wheel you are in trouble".
