?? Reflecting on an Incredible Journey So Far! ?? Five months ago, I stepped into a new chapter of my career by joining Publicis Global Delivery (PGD), a reputed digital marketing agency. It was my first experience working with international clients and adapting to a second-shift schedule. Everything was new to me – the work culture, processes, and expectations. It was challenging, but I saw it as an opportunity to grow, knowing that knowledge and logic are universal. Fast forward to today, I am thrilled to share that my journey has been nothing short of transformative, and I have been honored with the Extra Mile Award for going above and beyond in my role! ?? ? Here are some key milestones that made this journey remarkable: ?? Cross marketing social and search Team: Voluntarily worked with search team even though being in social team, bringing fresh ideas and a strong resolve to tackle long-standing challenges. ?? Driving Conversion Improvements: Took the lead in solving a conversion issue that had been overlooked, setting a solid foundation for improved performance. ?? Strategic Account Management: Successfully managed a large-scale 20 accounts, driving a 75% improvement in CPC performance and hence conversions. ?? Innovative Solutions: Introduced some strategies and models, helped in launch impactful campaigns and implemented A/B testing for continuous optimization. ?? Independent Management: Took full ownership of critical accounts like BG, showcasing adaptability, strategic thinking, and attention to detail. ?? Team Collaboration and Training: Bridged knowledge gaps between Social and Search teams, supported my peers through training, and strengthened team dynamics through feedback and engagement initiatives like brainstorming sessions and "Fun Fridays." I am deeply grateful to my colleagues and mentors for their guidance and support, which have been instrumental in my growth. Their encouragement and collaboration have truly inspired me to push boundaries and deliver impactful results. In early 2018, I remember reading a Gartner Magic Quadrant report that included, for the first time, IT companies such as Accenture, IBM, PwC, among others converging into the agency space. This was at a time when digital and business transformation was a key driver in the marketing and advertising industry. Jump to 2024, Adage's agency report detailing the top 30 agencies worldwide includes, at a glance, 5 IT consulting companies - Accenture Song Deloitte Digital IBM iX TCS Interactive and LTIMindtree . Well the big four may have just become the big 3 ?? Omnicom has agreed to acquire Interpublic Group (IPG), which would make it the largest advertising agency in the world. The combination would mean an agency with more than 100,000 employees and ~$25 billion in annual revenue. They would keep the Omnicom name, and Omnicom executives have said they already “clearly identified opportunities” for $750 million in annual cost savings. Now keep in mind that Omnicom and Publicis tried to merge in 2013 but the deal eventually fell apart given the complications of combining all of the subsidiaries in both portfolios. There's no guarantee this deal goes through but it would be the biggest agency shakeup we've seen in a very long time.

10 Things I Learned After 10 Years as CEO of Dentsu Kenya As I close this incredible chapter at Dentsu Kenya, I’m reflecting on a decade that shaped me as a leader, a thinker, and (occasionally) as a referee in client-agency debates. Here are 10 lessons I’m taking with me: 1. “Complex ideas don’t sell. Simplicity isn’t dumbing down—it’s smartening up.” The best campaigns are clear, memorable, and so simple you can explain them in one sentence. 2. “If you want to stand out, avoid committees. Consensus is where big ideas go to die.” Trust individuals to own ideas. Great creative doesn’t come from endless compromise. 3. “Sad dogs don’t hunt. Surround yourself with winners or risk becoming the pack mule.” Energy, optimism, and determination matter just as much as talent. 4. “Advertising isn’t a sermon to the faithful; it’s a grab for the doubters marching by.” We’re in the business of turning skeptics into believers, not preaching to the choir. 5. “Greatness is never polite. Genius will annoy you, challenge you, and sometimes insult you—but it will never bore you.” Managing brilliance means embracing a little chaos—it’s worth it. 6. “The truth sells better than a polished lie—but only if you make it irresistible.” Authenticity matters, but storytelling is what makes people care. 7. “Your product isn’t boring. Your story is.” Even the most unsexy brands have a story worth telling—find it and amplify it. 8. “Pay for talent, or pay for your mistakes. Cheap labor is always the most expensive line item.” Invest in the best people, and they’ll build the best business. 9. “Stop aiming for approval. The best ideas offend the comfortable before they inspire the bold.” Great work divides opinions before it unites them in admiration. 10. “Don’t bunt. The graveyard is full of safe players no one remembers.” Take risks, make bold moves, and leave a legacy worth talking about. To all the brilliant Dentsu staff I’ve worked with over the years—thank you for making this a journey filled with creativity, resilience, and endless laughs. dentsu posted Q324 organic net revenue growth of 0.3%, making a decline of 1.1% over the nine-month period. This is slightly below expectations at the half-year and, as the market for larger, transformational projects is still stagnant, management has trimmed full year organic revenue growth guidance to 0% (was 1%) and that for adjusted operating profit by 7%. There are positive elements to these figures, in particular continuing progress in Japan and good new business boosted by the ‘one dentsu’ initiative. The unveiling of the mid-term management plan has been delayed to February 2025, with the FY24 figures.
