Hello, LinkedIn! I spend a lot of time in my head reflecting. Mostly on what really makes things work, and problems I can solve. This morning I wanted to share a sentiment that is becoming more and more prevelent as I make my next moves: I am not in the real estate business, the construction business, or any traditional industry per se. I am, fundamentally, in the people business. My vision transcends the conventional boundaries of employment. It's not just about filling positions or meeting quotas; it's about discovering the unique passions and missions that ignite each individual. My goal is to revolutionize the employment landscape by creating opportunities that resonate on a personal level with people who care deeply about what they do. I am on a mission to change the way employment works. It's about matching the right person with the right role, yes, but it goes deeper. We're committed to finding passion projects for our team members, to aligning their professional journeys with missions that stir their souls. This approach has not only transformed the workplace into a thriving community of motivated individuals but has also propelled the company to new heights, and ambitions. I believe that when people are given the chance to work on what they are truly passionate about, the results are extraordinary. They bring a level of energy, creativity, and dedication to their roles that can't be matched by mere job satisfaction. This belief is what drives me every day to look beyond the resume, to see the potential for greatness in every person, and to create an environment where that greatness can flourish. Our journey is about creating a legacy of meaningful work, of building a future where every individual can say with confidence, "I am doing exactly what I was meant to do." This is the future I envision, and I invite the brave to join me. This hasn't been easy. Not for me, or anyone that's been a part of what I'm building. The missed marks, the empty envelopes, and the dead ends that don't let you turn back test resilience in a way that seems inhumane. But, this is what I'm doing. This is what I was meant to do. #PeopleBusiness #PassionProjects #ChangingEmployment #Leadership #VisionaryThinking

Early in my career, a seasoned HR manager gave me advice that has stuck with me: “If you want to succeed, you need to separate your personal life from your professional one. Leave your personal problems at the door. Remember, your coworkers aren’t your family or friends, especially when you’re new. Maintain a professional distance and keep personal stories to yourself.” While it’s natural to struggle with this as humans, it’s something we should always aim to practice. Your colleagues may be friendly, but that doesn’t make them your friends. Just this week, I saw close friends to lose their jobs after sharing personal thoughts with coworkers. The workplace is a dynamic environment where professionalism and boundaries are crucial. Be mindful of what you share and whom you trust—your career could depend on it.

Everyday Human Resource Management : EMPLOYMENT PROMOTION A job-promotion is?when an employer moves a worker up in the hierarchical levels within an organization. A promotion typically allows a worker to progress to a higher position, a higher level of responsibility and higher levels of authority within the organization. Being promoted?offers a higher corporate title, enhanced compensation, respect from your peers and the acknowledgment of doing a great job and exceeding expectations. It will hurt and upset an employee when they are asked to execute and perform certain tasks that are not in their job-description's scope of works - which they (the management) know that the worker is fully competent and capable of doing. A job-promotion is not only based on the applicant's professional experience for the job, but also leadership and human skills! #humanresourcemanagement #performancemanagement #leadership #teamspirit #jobpromotion #employmentpromotion Brenda Maximin Roger Nicholas Janelle Thompson Robert de Gannes Dr. Janice Brooks Rajiv Sundaraneedi Lisa Pamponette Andre Bruce Essiba Small Jody White Amanda Dattoo Safraz Mohammed

I have been reflecting on job titles recently and believe that as the corporate landscape continues to evolve, it is essential that we adapt our position titles to reflect this changing culture. For example, the title of "Assistant Manager" can be problematic. The term "Assistant" may imply a supportive role with limited responsibility or qualifications, despite the fact that the individual might be managing an entire department independently. It is crucial that we carefully consider job titles to ensure they accurately represent the scope and significance of the roles. Misleading titles can potentially undermine employee morale and hinder their performance. Conversely, titles such as "Personal Assistant" are clear in their intent and function, and thus do not present the same issues.

Few months back my boss and I were having a chat and she asked out of the blues “ are you enjoying your job” to be candid I was a little astonished and surprised. Astonished because no boss I have worked with as asked that. My answer was yes I am. The truth is I am happy to be part of an employee relations team it was everything I had hoped for or wished for as an HR person. Loving employee relations can stem from several rewarding aspects of the field. Here are some of my reasons for my passion in employee relations 1. Building a positive workplace and culture 2. Am always happy resolving conflicts between employees and line managers as an harmoneous and cooperative workplace will lead to increase in performance and productivity 3. Employee advocacy ensuring fair treatment across board 4. Diverse challenges the fact that it’s not static ensures am never board each case is different and unique in its own way 5.enhance communication because I am constantly communicating with both line managers and employees these has aided my communication skills, pitch and tone. 6.mediating fair solutions among parties and ensuring the process and procedures are followed through And finally, there is a Continuous professional development. I can’t count the numbers of mock trials, seminars webinars have added within my short stay which has been very impactful. #employeerelations#

I recently facilitated a retreat with my team. They asked for my vision, and I provided the following two versions: Official version for public viewing if anyone outside of the office asks: Strive to be leaders in human resources practices that attract, develop, and retain the best talent while fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are embraced, and personal growth is nurtured, thereby contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the mission. My version: To hire and develop a team of professionals who understand we’re here for one reason…to provide the best HR services possible. Our first goal is not to be friends, family, or close associates. If we become professionals in our trade, those designations naturally evolve because we are involved in everyone’s success…A TEAM! Always understand that our time to make a difference is short, and we’re all replaceable in some capacity…what do you plan to do until that happens? I realize everyone probably won't agree with my version, but sometimes we must remind ourselves that when hiring, our first objective is to find the best-qualified person for the position, not who will be our BFF! Team chemistry is essential to the selection process, but qualifications should be upheld. For my HR colleagues, how often have you heard, "Well, they're great, but they're just falling short in their job responsibilities. Have a great Friday and weekend!

In HR, we often face difficult situations, juggling multiple challenges and navigating negativity. It’s easy to lose sight of our core purpose. But whether we call it Human Resources or People Operations, “human” and “people” are at the heart of what we do. In my office and within my team, I have a simple philosophy: no matter the circumstances, we approach everyone with dignity and respect. After all, we might just be planting the seeds of the next CEO or exceptional executive.
