I am so encouraged see BRP working to revolutionize their product categories to Evs, for a post-carbon economy. Joining Swedish mfrs at the front of the pack. It is never easy to make such a bold breakthrough within a corporate culture. So there is a lot of innovation and innovators within BRP that won't make it to the podium, but have all contributed to this moment and this communications campaign. Kudos to the quiet ones making this possible. But now is when the resistance to innovation will multiply. Perhaps it will soon be time to reframe who the customer base is, that will bring such a product line to the mass adoption? Many in the existing customer base will shrug. Most will make fun. Others will criticize. Some will defect. Why invest so much money and effort into people who reside one culture to adopt a different one? Maybe BRP this is your moment to woo the over-my-dead-body customer (gas powered, that is) into the recreational vehicle space? Not just the laggards; the resistors. With regard to #DesignPlanning that would mean less Jason Bourne and something culturally more like Patagonia does. Not just in your background music, the 'adventure unlocked' theme, but start by reimagining all of the testosterone visible in the #IndustrialDesign language as well. People who love eco-tourism, enviro enthusiasts and 'silent sports' risk not seeing their identities reflected in this range of product forms, messages and symbolism.

* * T * G * I * F * F * * (thank god it's focus friday) We are all running our OWN race. We can not compare our self to someone else's journey. Everything happens for a reason and it happens when it's supposed to happen. Not before. It may feel like we are running so hard to catch that carrot but the carrot will never be caught. We are not where the carrot is because we are simply not ready yet. What we need to concentrate on is the journey itself. We may not realize it, but the route we are taking is meant to be an educational course to teach us what we will need when that carrot is finally reached. We WILL make our mark, this, what we are doing right now, is not just us wasting time. This is us developing ourselves, sanding off the rough edges so that when we get our carrot, we are finely polished! Row, eat, sleep, repeat! Let’s see how things sit after week two of the #Pacific24 row... ?? Liz and Lena: Currently leading the fleet towards Kaua’i, Liz and Lena have really benefited from choosing a more southerly route! ??Wild Waves: Charlotte and Jessica have been climbing the leaderboard. Like many other crews, knockdowns seem to be the norm, but they’re staying positive and focused. ??Salty Sappers: The crossing has been filled with drama for the sappers. They've had to deploy a drogue, battle knockdowns, and deal with a rudder issue. ?? Pacific Triow: The girls are going strong, despite some brutal days resulting in several knockdowns (where the waves move the boat to a 90 degree angle towards the water surface and capsizes). ??♂? Hericane Rowing: A few brutal days led to an EPIRB activation (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon, used for distress signalling and locating, crucial for alerting search and rescue authorities). The team capsized, but they were prepared, kept calm, and are back on track. ??♂? Human Powered Potential: What stands out from this team is their strong team spirit: crucial when undertaking the challenge of rowing across an ocean. Not even two hatches full of water have ruined their spirit! ??♂? Full Foarce: Despite a strong start, this incredible team have begun to slow down. Sore, tired, and cold, the team recently experienced a capsize, ripping off two of their rowing seats. This scary incident caused them to spend some hours on para anchor, while carrying out repairs. ??♂? United Row: Anna and Jenny might be closing off the fleet on the ocean, but the current ETA suggests all teams will arrive in Kaua’i within just a few days of each other.
