When ChatGPT first became a thing, we asked it - "How do you properly fire an employee?" Its response was pretty good. But nowhere did it mention consulting with employment counsel first. Has the answer probably evolved since then, sure. Our point being - AI won't replace HR professionals. AI can't demonstrate empathy, compassion and understanding. But, it's also important that HR not be left behind because it refuses to adopt AI for efficiency. Director of Operations Eric Mochnacz spoke with Tony Case at WorkLife, outlining HR's role in transparent communication about the use case of AI in workplaces. We don't think it will replace us, but if used properly, it can help us be more efficient. #AI #HR #HRConsulting https://lnkd.in/e_NXr9zj

Really enjoyed WIRED's discussion on "How will Generative AI Reinvent HR?" with the fascinating Aaron Goldsmid of Deel. A few takeaways from a wide-ranging discussion on the role GenAI could play in HR that are food for thought for anyone in Recruitment, HR, or a People-related discipline: ??As with all use cases, GenAI will never 'replace' humans in the industry. But it will augment, taking the heavy-load of low-leverage, low-ROI activities off us, and enable us to maximise our value in high-leverage activities. ??With regards to AI-driven applicant filtering/candidate searching, the bias within LLMs will not be of the same unconscious bias of humans, i.e. race, location, ethnicity, age, etc. It will form its own biases baked into LLMs with such complexity we are unlikely to unpack them. ??And, perhaps the most universal bit of wisdom. Chat-GPT is not ruining traditional application process by allowing gaming and/or cheating. We've ALWAYS had resources that allow for an unfair advantage. Cheating on tests is as old as time itself. LLMs are not good problem solvers. What matters is HOW people utilise the power of GenAI, and the access to Data it provides. Original, and innovative, use of LLMs for practical take home assessment, coding exercises, and presentations speaks to the things we always evaluated candidates by! Lots of food for thought as ever in this industry... What do you think? #AI #HR #recruitment #disruption #innovation #technology #brightpurple

As artificial intelligence is integrated across the workforce, HR professionals are feeling the squeeze to adopt tools like ChatGPT to make their teams more efficient. But it can be a tricky balance. Investigations have shown that common AI tools like?ChatGPT?exhibit what appears to be?racial bias?when asked to perform basic HR processes. Like executives across the country, many?HR leaders are embracing AI. Some HR leaders are afraid they’ll fall behind if they don’t adopt AI and fear they’ll be replaced if they do. #WorkLife: https://lnkd.in/gGrkGPDN

When you think of technology, what comes to mind first? If you said AI, you're probably not alone. With the number of innovations hitting the market, it seems like every day, there's a new update on ChatGPT, Google, or another platform as it aims to introduce yet another way to use AI in our daily lives. But businesses have the most to gain from this technology. HR departments alone could expand their talent management networks, building their reach while streamlining the information that comes in, offering a more concise view of what each employee has to offer. #HR #AI #FutureOfWork #HumanRelationsMonth

Generative AI in HR: A Reality Check The buzz around generative AI, like ChatGPT, has been unmissable. But when HR pros put it to the test, the results were eye-opening. Real-World HR Tests: AI vs Human Insight In one corner, Mineral's HR experts. In the other, ChatGPT's AI. The mission? Tackle complex HR and compliance queries. The outcome? A revealing look into AI's strengths and its limitations. Experiment 1: ChatGPT on Trial ChatGPT, across its versions, faced off against tricky HR questions. The verdict? Later versions showed promise, but when it came to nuanced, complex queries, human expertise still ruled supreme. The message? AI's got potential, but HR's nuanced world needs the human touch. Experiment 2: Knowledge Work and AI Harvard Business School and BCG took it further, exploring AI's impact on knowledge work. Surprise finding? Yesterday, Saville Assessment Nordic hosted #SavilleTalentTalk, where the topic was how AI influences HR. A great couple of hours in good company with other HR professionals, expertly led by Pil Byriel Key take aways are: ? GenAI holds great potential in HR, particularly in terms of enhanced productivity. ? Critical thinking is crucial, and we must actively employ it in our work with AI. ? AI doesn't inherently create value - there must be a business problem to solve. ? AI isn't the solution if our data isn't good enough ('garbage in, garbage out'). ? Bias exists in historical data and consequently in (Gen)AI. ? Job postings written by ChatGPT are 40% more biased than those written by humans. Thank you for the inspiration :)
