FAQ: Why is Common Tide's peer community any more valuable than the ones I'm already in? Answer: While there are many founder communities, they tend to emphasize larger events, webinars, and group activities. At Common Tide, we are focused on enabling founders to provide and receive 1x1 advisory board-level support. This emphasis on personal level connection with your peers separates Common Tide's community from other groups.

Everyone strives to have a “full Board”, but filling the seats is not enough. A Board is most effective and healthy when its members intentionally work at their role as Board members. Preparation is the first responsibility of effective Board membership. A Board meeting will be more effective, interesting and productive if everyone has thoroughly and thoughtfully read all the material being discussed before the meeting. Whether something is of high or low priority in the meeting, most documents and information are interwoven and connected, and therefor important. The more you know about the work of your Board and organization, the better you will be able to offer ideas, make decisions, and volunteer for projects and activities. Type "Board" in the comments if you found this post helpful.

When attending an event, deciding whether to listen or actively participate often depends on your personality, experience, or expertise. Mostly, it depends on your goal for attending that specific event. Here's why both panel discussions and roundtables offer unique benefits: Panel discussions: Gain a wealth of insights from industry experts and thought leaders as they share their experiences, knowledge, and predictions. This structured format provides: - Diverse viewpoints and a wide range of topics - Emerging trends, best practices, and innovative solutions - Focused discussions with prepared presentations followed by Q&A sessions Ideal for those who prefer to absorb information and reflect without the pressure of immediate interaction. Roundtables: Engage in active collaboration and dynamic discussions with peers in a more intimate setting. This interactive format offers: - Open dialogue and exchange of ideas - Real-time problem-solving and peer-to-peer learning - Deeper connections and a sense of community among participants Perfect for those who thrive on discussion and interaction, fostering stronger relationships and hands-on learning. So, what do you prefer: the enriching insights and structured learning of panel discussions or the dynamic interaction and collaborative problem-solving of roundtables? #MeetingManagement #EventPlanning #MeetingVenue #EventPanel #RoundTableDiscussion #BreakOutSessions
