Can honestly say this is the longest period of time I have gone without having a AP / LP position. I'm told my resume is impressive along with my results with previous companies. With that said I keep losing positions to other candidates that don't have the proven record that I have. I can only assume why but this isn't the place to list those rants. So here is a question. What other positions have any of you transitioned into outside of AP / LP? So far I have applied to store manager, OPs manager, inventory control and assistant manager positions without an interview. Has retail changed that much or are they moving on from the old dogs for new tricks. I have been thinking about posting about this for few months so here it is: This post is for all the Lowe's Companies, Inc. employees who work in the stores. I truly underestimated you all. Now that I have been in your shoes for about 5 months as a Part-timer, I know what it means: 1.) Changing work schedule. 2.) Daily trainings to keep up with safety regulations, security etc etc.. 3.) Bring that top smile everyday to help customers. 4.) Be an active listener for senior customers who just want to have a talk and share their life stories with you. 5.) Cross department trainings all the time (cutting wood, ropes, glass, making a key etc..) 6.) Learning how to drive a Ballymore, Reach, Forklift etc and clear the test for it. 7.) Stocking and re-stocking shelves after customers move things around. AND most important - 8.) The amount of knowledge and information you have to keep up with.........that just wows me. IF you are employer reading this, I recommend hiring people out of Hardware, Plumbing, Tools and Electrical departments. Some of the smartest folks are in those departments (mathematical geniuses). I had my share of highs and lows but honestly, have loved each and every moment of being on the floor, interacting with customers daily and best part - I get to sell appliances to grandpas and grandmas (their stories are elite). #majorrespect ?? #lowes #redvest --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am still "Open for opportunities" and looking to land my next Contract or a Full-time gig. I do all things Recruiting in Technical, GTM and G&A space and can start ASAP! #referme #iamaRecruiter ??

Earlier today, I shared the story of one of our team members leaving Modi Toys last Friday. We knew the day was coming for months so we had been prepared with his replacement, who was fully trained. In fact, this new hire seemed so promising that we began envisioning his path to promotion. But, as luck would have it, he pulled a 180 on us. Didn't show up to work last week, stopped responding to messages, and didn't return any calls. We spoke to his wife, so at least we knew he was well and alive, but she didn't offer much details about his whereabouts. Struggles like these don't get the spotlight because as small business owners, we're often busy putting out multiple fires at once (oh BTW, did I mention we're out of stock on 2 of our best selling items during Prime Day??!) And on that note, we're hiring an Operations Assistant in Edison, NJ, if you know anyone that may be interested!
