Whether it's a heartfelt thank-you note, a shout-out during team meetings, or celebrating milestones together, showing appreciation can transform the way we connect with our partners, donors, and staff. We’d love to hear from this community: What are your favorite ways to express gratitude? How have these gestures impacted your relationships and your organization? Let’s share ideas and inspire one another to create a more grateful environment! ???? #Gratitude #NonprofitLeadership #CommunityBuilding #ThankYou #MotivationMonday #NonprofitExcellence

?? Leading with Kindness on #GivingTuesday ?? Today, the spirit of generosity inspires us to give back and make a difference. But kindness isn't just about monetary donations—it's about the actions we take, the words we share, and the leadership we embody. As leaders, we can set the tone for kindness every day. Here’s how you can lead with kindness today: ?? Support a cause you believe in: Share your time, talents, or resources with an organization making an impact in your community. ?? Show appreciation: Take a moment to thank your team, colleagues, or loved ones. A simple “thank you” can go a long way. ?? Lead by example: Encourage your team to participate in giving initiatives, whether through volunteer opportunities or workplace donations. ?? Foster a culture of giving: Create a supportive environment where acts of kindness—big or small—are celebrated and encouraged. On this #GivingTuesday, let's remember that the greatest gift we can give is kindness, not only today but every day. How will you lead with kindness today? Let’s inspire each other to make a positive impact! ???? #GivingTuesday #LeadWithKindness #MakeADifference

Just a reminder that this week ● You might hear rejection on that proposal or application, ● You might see people unsubscribe from your letters sent recently, ● You might hear a rude no on your requests in a mail or two. But none of them – or more such actions – mean an invitation to question your values, why, and purpose. Because none of those actions in singularity mean your failure. And because all of those actions give you three opportunities: ● Opportunity to review if there was values alignment in those actions, ● Opportunity to choose how you want to proceed, and, ● Opportunity to celebrate everything you and your team did and gave to each of those actions. So, my nonprofit friends, regardless of the actions I listed at the top of this post as an example, I want to see you celebrating your work, your team, and yourselves by the time I write another of these notes on Friday! #nonprofitleadership #community

This Month of Giving Has Taught Me… We have been reflecting on what it truly means to give not just in material ways, but through time, energy, and presence. When I first set out to focus on philanthropy this month, I thought it would primarily be about the impact I could have on others. But the truth is, the act of giving gave just as much back to me. Here are a few lessons I’ve learned: 1. Giving starts small, but it ripples wide. Sometimes, it’s easy to think that generosity has to be grand, a big check, a major donation, or an elaborate act. But this month reminded me that small, intentional actions can create meaningful connections. A kind word, a little extra patience, or showing up for someone in need can have more impact than you realize. 2. Gratitude multiplies through generosity. Every time I gave whether it was time, resources, or even advice I found myself reflecting on how much I already have to be thankful for to GOD??. Gratitude doesn’t wait for perfection; it grows when you give from whatever you already have, no matter how small. 3. Community is everything. One of the most beautiful parts of this month has been seeing how our audience engage with the supports causes close to your hearts. You’ve reminded us how much stronger we are when we lift each other up, whether through shared ideas, encouragement, or collective action. Looking back, this month wasn’t just about giving to others it was about learning, growing, and becoming more aware of how connected we all are. So now, What’s one lesson you’ve learned this month? Sometimes the most meaningful lessons come from the stories we exchange. #MonthOfGiving #Generosity #KindnessMatters #CommunitySupport #Gratitude #Philanthropy #GivingBack #HumanConnection #Inspiration Giving, Reflection, Acts of Kindness, Gratitude, Community, Uplift Each Other, Personal Growth, Lessons Learned, Small Acts, Collective Action

?? Gratitude is the foundation of strong donor relationships. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is connecting with the incredible individuals who make our mission possible. Over time, I’ve realized that a heartfelt “thank you” can be more powerful than even the most polished appeal. Here’s what I’ve found works: 1?? Be Personal: Instead of generic emails, write personal notes or make calls. Mention something specific about their gift or involvement. 2?? Show Tangible Impact: Let them know exactly how their support has made a difference. A small photo or story can go a long way. 3?? Celebrate Milestones: Whether it’s the anniversary of their first gift or the completion of a project they supported, make them feel part of your journey. Gratitude isn’t just about appreciation—it’s about building trust and fostering deeper connections. What’s one way your organization practices gratitude? #Gratitude #DonorEngagement #NonprofitLeadership #SocialImpact #MissionDriven #Philanthropy #FundraisingSuccess #NonprofitMarketing #ImpactStories #DevelopmentDirector

On this Giving Tuesday, I’m reflecting on the idea of giving—not just to charities, but to the people we work with every day. Leadership is about giving employees what they need to thrive: trust, compassion, and the resources to succeed. It’s about creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to bring their best selves to work. In my career, I’ve seen how leading with compassion and prioritizing people can transform not just the work we do but the culture we build together. Giving is about more than financial contributions—it’s about showing up for each other in meaningful ways, every day. Let’s remember that the spirit of Giving Tuesday doesn’t have to stop at our personal lives. It can extend to our workplaces, too. #GivingTuesday #Leadership #CompassionateLeadership #PeopleFirst #WorkplaceCulture #Teamwork #EmployeeEngagement

For many in the nonprofit community, today is about working through disappointment and grief. If you’re feeling heavy-hearted—carrying a deep sense of disappointment, grief or even fear for what lies ahead—remember that it's natural to feel overwhelmed by the weight of such strong emotions. Disappointment and grief, though challenging, can also remind us of the values that matter most to us—compassion, inclusion and resilience. These are the qualities that define us and the communities we work to build. Here are a few thoughts on working through this time: ???Lean on Community: Share conversations, listen, and support each other. Community is powerful, and even a simple conversation can lighten the weight we feel. ???Focus on Small Wins: In our field, we always have a long journey ahead of us. Celebrate small victories, whether they're personal accomplishments, local wins or moments of support within your team. ???Channel Purpose into Action: Many of us entered nonprofit work to make a difference. Now, more than ever, we can lean into that purpose to create change, even in the face of setbacks. Take the time you need to process, regroup and re-center. We’ll continue moving forward together, with empathy and strength, because that’s who we are.??? #NonprofitCommunity #Resilience #HopeAndHealing #WorkingThroughGrief #PurposeDriven

Today on Mindset Minute, I'm talking about something that nonprofit leaders often forget: giving yourself permission. There's so much pressure to do everything, be everything, and show up for everyone. But here's the truth—no one else is going to give you that permission but YOU. I get it. I’ve been there. You want to be everything for your community because the need is so great. But I've learned that I can’t pour from an empty cup—and neither can you. So today, I want you to say to yourself: ? It's okay to miss a deadline. ? It's okay not to be everything for everyone. ? It's okay to rest. Take a deep breath and give yourself permission to just be. Put yourself first. Because when you do, you're better for the people you serve. ?? Do you! Take a walk, read a book, meditate, or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee—whatever helps you recharge. ?? If this message hit home,?like this post?and share your self-care practice in the comments! #MindsetMinute #NonprofitLeadership #SelfCareMatters #NonprofitSupport #PermissionToRest
