Recently I spent time with Alexander Geht MS from Testa-Seat, Matthew Bauer from Allegheny Health Network, Mitch Bell from UPMC Physical Medicine, Linda Thoma from the Center for Community Resources and Wendy Davis from the Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation discussing how new connected home technology is helping those with disabilities. It was amazing to see the various low-tech and high-tech tools that are developed to ensure every has a great quality of life. The T-Mobile 5G network helps bring sports fans with visual disabilities an exciting new way to be part of the experience—just one of the ways 5G is changing the game for good. ?? Let’s talk about what 5G can do for your business. #SportsTech #FanExperience

Good morning, and welcome to a new chapter—2025. This year, we’re shining a new light on accessibility, inclusion, and innovation. Our app’s vision is clear: to simplify communication for the Deaf, blind, and hard-of-hearing communities, making it effortless, accessible, and transformative. While current methods of communication serve a purpose, there’s room to make them simpler and more seamless. That’s where this app comes in. Some of its basic features include: Bridging communication gaps with integrated systems. Supporting diverse accessibility tools to cater to individual needs. Empowering everyday interactions, from education to healthcare. But dreams like this can’t thrive alone. We’re calling on developers, investors, and visionaries who share our passion for creating a world where communication knows no limits. Can Technology Truly Break Barriers for the Deaf and Mute? In 2024, why do we still struggle to provide equal access to communication for the deaf and mute community? ?? On 5th and 6th September, my team, CODEDITY, and I participated in a hackathon at Galgotias University, where we built a project aimed at helping people who are deaf and mute communicate more easily. Our hard work paid off—we secured a spot in the semi-final round! ?? But here’s the big question: Can technology alone really solve this issue? Or are we just covering up a deeper problem that society hasn’t addressed? Our goal is to create something that allows people to connect and communicate freely, without the barriers they often face. PS: What’s your take? Can tech make a real difference for the deaf and mute, or are we overlooking something bigger? #Accessibility #DeafCommunity #MuteCommunity #Inclusion #BreakingBarriers #Hackathon #CODEDITY #SemiFinals #SmartIndiaHackathon

This couldn't be far from the truth and somebody had to say it! Think about a task you find challenging, like writing by hand or reading small print. Now imagine having a tool that makes that task easier. That's essentially what Assistive Technology (AT) does. It provides tools and solutions to help people with disabilities participate fully in everyday life. I have been in a couple of conversations where the topic of assistive technology came up and there were misconceptions that clouded the understanding of it but like I said, they couldn't be further from the truth. Let's debunk some of them together: ?Myth: AT is only for people with severe disabilities. ?Fact: AT benefits anyone, regardless of disability severity. ?Myth: AT is cheating. ?Fact: It allows individuals to perform tasks differently, not better ?Myth: AT is limited to bulky devices. ?Fact: AT also includes simple aids and even smartphones can carry dozens of AT options ?Myth: AT will "fix" a person's challenges. ?Fact: It helps navigate challenges but doesn't change the underlying condition We see the application of this technology around us and it is not just a luxury but a necessity for many. That is why I have taken the chance to connect with innovators, educators, and users who are reshaping the narrative around assistive technology at the Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA) conference happening from January 30 to February 1, 2025 Register for free here https://lnkd.in/g-zS3RJp and learn how AT can enhance the quality of life for all Please REPOST this to spread value to your audience I am Mosopeoluwa, a software developer. if you're passionate about assistive and accessible technology, let's connect! #21dayslinkedinconsistency #ATIA2025 #assistivetechnology #inclusion
