October kicks off National Clean Energy Action Month, and it’s time to take action! With support from the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), federal agencies are aggressively working to improve their energy management, resilience, and optimization. What does that mean? Federal agencies have worked together to reduce their energy use (and costs) by 26% since 2003. Lower energy use means lower costs, which means our taxpayer dollars go further. Progress is possible if we work together. Now is the time to join forces through public-private partnerships and accelerate energy and water-saving projects. Whether you’re improving campus-wide systems or upgrading individual facilities, every step strengthens our federal infrastructure’s security and resilience. Let’s push forward, innovate, and make a lasting impact. How will you take action this month? #CleanEnergyAction #EnergyResilience #Sustainability

"There’s no shortage of attempts to close communications gaps like these. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) both have published robust energy-vocabulary glossaries, for example. And there are a plethora of online resources breaking down challenging energy concepts. But modular definitions like these don’t lead to true understanding of how consumers can and should adopt climate-friendly solutions." — Matt Calderone and Amanda Molaro of LaunchSquad (Photo: pidjoe) https://lnkd.in/gtV4vAH2??

Funding and removing barriers to adoption are critical to extending the life of the grid. Upgrading lines and adding DLR will help the grid support the increasing demand for power. * Up to 40% increase in transmission capacity * Reduce congestion costs for efficient grid operation * Ensure compliance with FERC Order No 881 requirements https://lnkd.in/d-Z9yKaa ?#DynamicLineRating?#GridEnhancingTechnologies?
Today The White House announced the ambition to “upgrade 100,000 miles of transmission lines over the next five years.” The fact sheet calls out the need for “fast and cost-effective ways to unlock hundreds of gigawatts of additional clean energy, increase system reliability and resilience, reduce grid congestion, and cut energy costs.” Julia Selker, Executive Director of the WATT Coalition, said: “The Biden Administration’s commitment to upgrading 100,000 miles of the grid within five years should galvanize the electricity industry to finally deploy #GridEnhancingTechnologies at scale. “This goal recognizes that GETs are fully commercialized and deliver immediate value on the grid without delays or disruptions. “GETs are so inexpensive that they can be installed and pay for themselves within months by increasing transmission capacity. “GETs put the goal of upgrading 100,000 miles of transmission lines in five years within reach – it’s high time that utilities and system operators embrace Dynamic Line Ratings, Advanced Power Flow Control and Topology Optimization as the lowest-cost, fastest-to-deploy solutions to expand transmission capacity.” https://lnkd.in/dxBug6AQ

Clean Power Week 2024 continues as we celebrate a record amount of new U.S. clean power coming online in the last two years. Over 55 GW of new clean power came online between September 2022 and March 2024, providing enough electricity to power over 10 million homes across the nation. We currently operate facilities that produce enough energy to power the needs of millions of homes and businesses in America. As we celebrate this incredible accomplishment, we are looking forward to building on this strong foundation to advance America’s clean energy future. We are committed to continuing to sustainably develop, construct, and operate transformational energy projects that will strengthen the nation’s workforce, economy, and power grid. #PatternEnergy #CleanPowerWeek #PowerTheEconomy #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #CleanPower #RenewableEnergy #RenewablePower
