Designing campuses as a township for water-sensitive designs can lead to promoting sustainable urban development with water conservation. A Water-Sensitive Urban Design of WSUD is proposed. Urban problems begging for sustainable solutions are numerous - water, energy, transportation, floods, waste and wastewater, etc. The study focuses on WSUD as a case study for campuses as a prototype for cities. Innovation, experimentation and education for WSUD can obviously serve the sustainability in all sectors and beyond campus. The UFSC campus efforts?in Brazil argue for green-permeable pavements, rain gardens, barriers/waterfalls, green roofs and walls, etc., as contributors to WSUD. Implementations are quite impressive. Campuses offer ideal living labs for these practical contributions to sustainability solutions for cities.
