However, there was not a permanent position available and I had to interview for positions elsewhere in the company. I did receive an immense amount of support from my supervisor who connected me with managers in the company to get my name out there. He even talked to hiring managers for me when we identified a role I was interested in. They did not have a learning plan or anything and I was left with many tasks that others did not have time for. I did learn a lot during my time, but it was not structured. In the end I was offered a position in another part of the company but it was a shift that was not ideal for me and I found employment elsewhere. When your applying to these Skillbridge companies and you get an email back with the company requesting a zoom interview to discuss the position, introduce you to members of the c-suite, and get to know a little bit more about you, anyone would be optimistic and see this as a great opportunity. However I would learn that DCI talked a good game and it wasn't until I got there that I realized that they don't actually have a structured program. During this time, I was able to get IT certifications, project management certifications, Focus on college, Go to any VA appointments, children appointments & be a more present dad/husband. It is super flexible which relieves so much stress. During this time I was able to work on my résumé(With the help of AV). Which helped me accept a job offer with Amazon. They gave me a time to home hunt, which is giving me the ability to move to Virginia from Florida after clearing my installation. I am truly grateful for Allegiant Vets and their team. Equinix skillbridge Review ?? Rating 1 / 5 Review by anonymous: “Company's Skillbridge is really mismanaged in a sense of no follow up or mention with the servicemember's conversion for full time hire at Equinix till the end of program. Felt a sense of using transitioning service members to do the leg work with no intention of hire during skillbridge. Job description, daily tasks, and job title of the skillbridge role did not match once onboarded to company and completely misled to doing the supervisors tasks instead. Outboarding process was also unclear as to returning issues computer equipment and ID card was a struggle. The fellowship involves a cohort of about 15 fellows (transitioning active-duty members and military spouses), with each cohort running for an 11-week period. The program includes weekly professional development sessions led by a military fellowship program team. You're assigned to a company team based on your chosen career track, with the expectation of being given a project to work on for the duration.
