Falls are alarmingly common in the elderly nursing home population. The annual incidence of falls in long-term care facilities has been reported to be about 1.6 falls per nursing home bed. Residents who fall once also have a propensity to fall again. Since the elderly are frail and are often taking blood thinning medications, when they fall, they tend to suffer outsized injuries and even death. https://conta.cc/4cvpopV
