Find me a person who has never worked in hospitality. Everyone at some point or another has pulled a pint, waited tables, washed-up, worked a door, sold a ticket, promoted a gig, cleaned a venue, supervised a Sunday shift and or have braved the famous double or split shift. Where would you be now, had you not had the opportunity to cut your teeth in the world of work in the local pub, the bar at Uni, that gig venue that you had always dreamed of working at? Me and my team would like to add our voice to the campaign to reduce the hospitality burden to 10% VAT. With the world increasingly staring at screens instead of interacting, saving the businesses that keep our social spaces alive is vitally important. Not only to those who work within them, but also to the whole of society. What was your first job? Mine was as a KP in a restaurant when I was 15.
