Have Your Say: IVSC Agenda Consultation 2024

As the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards in valuation practices worldwide. To ensure that our standards continue to evolve and meet the needs of a dynamic global market, we have launched the IVSC Agenda Consultation 2024, and we need your input.

This consultation is a crucial part of our transparent and inclusive standard-setting process. It offers valuation professionals, reviewers, end users, professional bodies, standard setters, regulators, and all stakeholders the opportunity to shape the future of the International Valuation Standards (IVS).

Your feedback will guide the work of the IVSC’s technical boards as they consider updates to the IVS. We are particularly keen to hear your views on several key areas:

  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations:?How should valuation standards reflect the growing importance of ESG factors in today’s market?
  • Technology in Valuation:?What role should technological advancements play in the future of valuation practices?
  • Valuation Risk:?How can we better address and manage risks in valuation processes?

In addition to these topics, we are also seeking your thoughts on other significant issues, including digital assets, the interplay between private and public markets, internally generated intangibles, agricultural assets, and the concept of prudent value.

Your input is not just welcomed – it is vital. The insights and perspectives gathered through this consultation will directly influence how the IVSC prioritises its resources and efforts. The more diverse and comprehensive the feedback, the more robust and relevant our standards will be for professionals and markets around the world.

The consultation is open until 9 October 2024, and we encourage all stakeholders to participate. You can download the consultation paper and submit your feedback through the IVSC website here:?IVSC Agenda Consultation 2024 .

We greatly appreciate your time and expertise in contributing to this important process. Together, we can ensure that the International Valuation Standards continue to set the benchmark for excellence and integrity in valuations globally.

Thank you for your support and participation.

ESG inputs should be reflected by linking to the financial materiality and showcase its importance. Better to refer to ISSB S1 and S2.

ESG play important role and is difficult to predict and have most important role in valuation. lets see the example of Bangladesh in this case. 2. Technology makes works fast and less error so valuation should be done by help of technology and judgement is from valuer side. 3. In case of Nepal the valuation is mainly done for secured landing purpose and change of ESG condition formally not adopted by banks and valuers are in risk due to change of valuation of property and banks are troubling valuers.
