So, here we are, the end of another year sneaking up on us! A lot of us are rushing around, tackling those last-minute holiday chores and trying to crush our work goals. Before we even realize, a fresh new year will be rolling in, and we’ll be back on that familiar grind. One thing that really helps me kick off the new year is taking a little time to look back on the past twelve months. I’ve learned that if I skip this step, I’ll just end up dragging the same old issues and hiccups into the next year. ?? Today is Rocket Camp’s 10th Anniversary! ?? As we mark this milestone, we celebrate not just years on a calendar but a decade of hard work, perseverance, and entrepreneurial fortitude. We are so grateful for the dedication of our team, the support of our partners, and the trust of our clients. To commemorate this remarkable occasion and reflect on this long and wonderful journey, we've compiled a list of our Top 10 Lessons from 10 Years in Business. Though not all are specific to advertising and marketing, every one of them has shaped us as an organization and guided our growth. Lesson ??: Humility It doesn’t matter how good you are at your role in an ad agency environment. It doesn’t matter how many years of experience you’ve garnered, how many teams you've led, clients you’ve worked with, or awards you’ve won. It doesn’t matter who you are: on Day 1 at [Your Own Agency], you will be unprepared to run a business. The contributions you made to your former agency may have been vital, but your focus was blissfully narrow. Now you’ve got to worry about…well, everything. All. The. Things. Which draws focus away from whatever it is you are really good at, the reason you thought it was a good idea to run your own shop in the first place. Maybe you can hire some folks to do some of the things? Congratulations! You’ve just added project management, HR, benefits, and payroll to your list. Also, you’ll need to find the time to do the work that will support the salaries of those new employees and any services you've outsourced. Did you send those invoices, btw? A willingness to evolve is really the most important component of running a business. Figuring things out takes a lot of time, a lot of effort, and a decent amount of winging it. You will inevitably get some things wrong. But if that willingness is also coupled with capability, moderate risk tolerance, healthy optimism, and—hopefully—a bit of luck? There can be no stopping you. It’s Day 3,650 at Rocket Camp. And still, we’ve got more things to do. ?? ??

January may not have gone as planned, and that’s okay. Sometimes targets are missed, clients go quiet, or projects don’t turn out as expected. But don’t let one month define your year. February is a fresh start, a new opportunity to reset your goals, refine your strategies, and approach your work with renewed energy and determination. Reflect on what worked, learn from what didn’t, and keep pushing forward. Every step, no matter how small, brings you closer to success. You’ve got this! We faced our fears and threw some sharp objects... all in the name of team building! ????? For our team’s end of year celebration, Alex Boroda convinced us to leave the Google office and try Axe Throwing! ? It was surprisingly therapeutic (and a little bit terrifying!). ?? Learning a new skill together, even something as unexpected as axe throwing, creates a shared experience where everyone is a beginner. It levels the playing field, encourages vulnerability, and builds trust in a whole new way.? Also, It's hard to take yourself too seriously when you're trying to hurl a sharp object at a wooden target! The result? A ton of laughter ?? , some impressive throws, and a stronger sense of camaraderie.?? Looking back, I'm filled with gratitude for this remarkable team ? . You made 2024 a truly special year filled with laughter, learning, shared success, and the incredible bonds we built together with Customers, Partners and Googlers. Cheers to each of you! ?? 2024 was a wild ride. The past twelve months blended challenges and wins, but who doesn’t like a good mix? Here’s what I’m particularly proud of: 1. Sharpening our product vision We’ve been on a growth journey as a company and fine-tuning our product. Last year, we took massive steps to better understand our audience, positioning, and market. Since 2023, we’ve run activations and experiments like mad scientists in an already saturated market. The result? We saw product-market fit firsthand and found a unique space where Letterhead helps explicitly and doesn’t. We don’t try to be the best solution for everyone under the sun. That product and company vision got tighter last year — and that’s what gets me jumping out of bed every morning! 2. Growing our team It’s not just our vision that’s grown. Just last year, we doubled our team! Software might have the potential to reach customers far and wide, but without the right team, it’s like launching a rocket without fuel. This year promises to be huge for Letterhead in terms of marketing, product development, and overall company growth, and I couldn’t be more excited! What are YOU proud of achieving last year? ??
