Kudos to Rain for such a forward looking article. In his campaign rhetoric and current published initiatives for his next term, I haven’t heard anything from D.J. Trump about improving America’s competitive position in manufacturing, either domestically or globally. In his first term, Trump promised to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.A, however, I don't think he did anything for manufacturing unless you consider corporate tax cuts an incentive. Joe Biden, on the other hand, did bring chip manufacturing back to the US and funded with Congressional approval a large number of infrastructure projects. I don’t think Project 2025 mentions anything about manufacturing. In the next four years, I think U.S. manufacturers will find a tougher market for their existing products. The concern is that unless you are Elon Musk, there will be no incentives to hire more workers, fund new capital equipment projects or to design/build new products.
