Earlier this week, I posted a blog post discussing the recent ACR statement on supervision of diagnostic tests involving contrast media. I have further thoughts and questions. Looking more closely at the statement. I can see that providing a comprehensive guide to virtual supervision was not the intent of the committee. Instead, the committee focused only on one aspect - a critically important aspect - of the supervision of imaging studies that include the administration of contrast media. Namely, the qualification of the personnel who are on site when the contrast is administered and supervised remotely. This is an admirable goal. I outline some questions and concerns that remain in my mind in today's post. #ACR #Radiology #Supervison

We are halfway through #MRISafetyWeek2024 and we still have so many things to share! Today, we want to talk about how we keep our patients safe by providing pads to separate the patient’s skin from the walls of the scanner; we also use pads to separate point skin-to-skin contact. As you can see from the pictures, this is also a reason that we try to remove any and all external metal from the patient before entering the scan room- we aren’t only concerned about the metal being attracted to the scanner. If the patient doesn’t remove something metal, it can result in a burn. #MRISafety #MRI #Radiology #patientsafety
