ABeta42 (Amyloid beta 42) is found to be accumulated in AD (Alzheimer's Disease) patients' brains, forming plaques (refer to ref. 1). Drosophila melanogaster can be a useful model system to study about the accumulations of ABeta42 protein plaques and NFTs (neurofibrillary tangles) in the developing fly compound eyes at the 3rd instar larval stage. This is the “semantic tree” and up to date for 2024 if you want to truly understand the complexity or cancer evolution and metastatic progression. It is not either or- it is inclusive of all research done to date on cancer. Criticism: the graphic visually neglects the key points that nutrition, microbiome, exercise and mind body aspect of healing likely impacts ALL the other pieces and neglect on these issues are likely driving our cancer risk in “industrialized” nations higher. Whereas drugs targeting a mechanism does not affect the holistic picture as dramatically and whatever benefits that do occur only last as long as the drug works not to mention the side effects. Not focusing more % research $$ on a more holistic approach to cancer care and prevention integrated with our new IP drugs is just idiocy at this point of science.

Intermittent fasting on a 5:2 schedule has been shown to protect against liver inflammation and liver cancer in mice. The fasting regimen led to metabolic changes, such as increased breakdown of fatty acids and decreased build-up of fats, which combat nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and related conditions like cirrhosis and liver cancer.
