That said, what we often see with tabletop exercises (and even simulations) is, the experience is facilitated in person or electronically in a way that makes communicating easier than it may be in a real crisis. Incident response preparedness means having clear agreement on HOW communications will happen during a cyber incident AND on what channel(s)? Incident response plans are essential but if communications go down and no one can communicate, the incident response plan becomes secondary.?
