The December period can be challenging, particularly if you are in sales with decision makers and decisions hard to get and everyone talking about Christmas. However if you just assume nobody will buy in December you will probably be right. Personally December is a time when I focus more of an effort on the Middle East as this is a region that does not get caught up on Christmas the way we do in our part of the world. Sometimes you have to think outside the box(or in this case region!) and business is more readily available there. Fact! There are THIRTY Countries who don’t even celebrate Xmas. A really good Collaborate MK Gold Workshop this morning. I was privileged to run a table session on "How to make your Expo cost nothing" - which was a bit of a play on the situation. What was interesting that the people at my table, some experienced at expos some new, hadn't considered how important the pre-event activity a 'professional' exhibitor does to make their expo work. When it comes to exhibitions, people can become a little blinkered and forget the obvious - like existing customers! At the very least, when you are exhibiting, invite them to come see you. It's a great reason to get in contact with them and tell them about your upcoming Expo and what you are promoting. This often leads to cross selling opportunities - all because you are exhibiting and decided to invite them. ### Trade Shows: The Unexpected “sell me if you can” LOL! It's surprising how, when you build a booth at a trade show, most visitors are actually trying to sell you something. The number of targeted visitors interested in buying your products or services is significantly smaller. Exhibition organizers have no solutions for this problem—no targeted matchmaking of buyer visitors for exhibitors, which is the very reason companies invest in such expensive participation and booth construction.
