The future of home comfort is all-electric, and an increasing number of homeowners are embracing heat pumps as part of that future. While awareness around heat pumps isn’t as common as that of traditional heating and cooling systems (furnaces and window AC units, for example), new year-over-year research from Quilt reveals some significant growth: - 67% of homeowners see heat pumps as a good heating option (up from 54%) - Nearly half of homeowners (47%) now see heat pumps "for people like me" (up from 34%) - Heat pumps, contrary to belief, can cool homes (58% of homeowners agree, up from 50%) - 40% of homeowners recognize heat pumps increase home value (up from 28%) These findings affirm our mission to get as many homes off fossil fuels as possible. And — we can’t help it — they foster our optimistic feelings about the all-electric future.?

Weatherization Programs in each state for low-income/working-class people living in their homes are to receive free: air sealing, insulation, window treatments/replacements, duct sealing, tuning/repairing Heating/Ventilating/AC & water heating systems. Yet, Weatherization Contractors are confronted with barriers to perform the work at all. Have you seen very wonderful people living in working-class neighborhoods, however, can't keep up maintaining their home? If the presence of asbestos, knob & tube wiring, mold, lead, structural issues, venting & combustion safety issues, etc. Stop Work! Insulation cannot be installed if contractors discover mold or asbestos.?? The Weatherization intent for low-income/working class people earning +/- $125,000/yr needs to change to REALITY. The bones of a home need to be worked on to achieve a minimum standard of "Green/Sustainable/Resilient" PRIOR to adding systems & utilities. America's working-classes have raised their voices the stratosphere gap b/t the middle-classes & them is too much! Stop! Halt! Revise programs to spend money renovating the bones of existing homes which is the most environmentally friendly housing build.
