Our founding team had an awesome time together in Colorado last week in the OCEAN Programs accelerator. We refined our sales strategy, focused our product roadmap, and improved clarity around our unique differentiators in the EdTech market. As we head into this new school year, we're excited about introducing QuestRead to even more young readers. We had a very fun time together working up in the mountains with an amazing group of founders from SMB.co ESGentle PALLI Good Agriculture.

A lesson on how to learn from your mistakes ?? Hubertus Bessau, founder of mymuesli and PROJECT EADEN, “Learnt the pitfalls of IT the hard way.” When scaling mymuesli from 3 to 600+ employees, he encountered a whole host of IT issues. So when he came to cofound Project Eaden in 2022, he knew something had to change. ??That’s where deeploi came in. For the full case study, check out our blog (and hear about their super high-tech meat alternative which is causing waves in the plant-based sector): https://lnkd.in/dt_bQHjN

"Do not underestimate the power of in-person experiences." As someone who works with a lot of digital media, I cannot emphasize this point enough. I'm taping it to my wall, sharing it with my team, my clients and anyone looking at their phone when they should be smelling the roses (or Farmshelf fresh herbs). ?? Jean-Paul Kyrillos #media #advertising #marketing
When I started at Farmshelf I was a latecomer to the start-up world. I had already had a successful career in magazine publishing—Travel + Leisure (yeah, you read that right ??). Thrust into a sea of VC acronyms like PMF, MVP and DFM, I wanted to call bullshit and just get these people to speak English. But they hold the pursestrings, so you have to play their game. As I look back at our successes, trials and tribulations, I thought I would share some stories, and perhaps wisdom, of how we got to where we are today. Let’s go back to close to the beginning. This is our first beta with Noma cofounder Claus Meyer at The Great Northern Food Hall in Grand Central Station. I guess that was our MVP-minimum viable product-you see what I did there?! To this day, Grand Central was our most visible Farmshelf showcase. Do not underestimate the power of in-person experiences. Stay tuned for more #FarmshelfDiaries

At Makmende Impact Accelerator: Catalyzing Change Through Films, we explored why now is the perfect time for long-format storytelling to become a powerful tool to tell a bigger story, especially around food security. During our Q&A after the release of 2SCALE Food Soldiers: Promoting Inclusive Agribusiness with Alessia Barbiero and Maxwell Olitsa from 2SCALE, we discussed how this approach captures the complexity of agribusiness, highlights the critical role of empowering smallholder farmers, and emphasizes the importance of partnerships in creating lasting impact. We believe ethical, personal storytelling is key to connecting with local communities and driving meaningful change. Learn more about what we’re able to create here at Makmende and how we can help bring your story to life: https://lnkd.in/eFha-k3d

I'm proud to introduce our new presentation for Cattler, in which a handful of producers explain in their own words what it is, how it works, and what it represents for them as cattle managers. Cattler continues to upgrade the way beef cattle producers handle their farm operations and information, becoming more efficient, profitable, and sustainable at the same time. Farmers are going even more digital. In these years of price instability, environmental concerns and growing beef demand, supporting #cattle producers and #feeders is key, because they are the backbone of the whole beef ecosystem. Cattler is devoting its efforts to help unleash the potential of this giant industry. #cattlefarmer #beef #agtech #supplychain #digitalcattle Ezequiel Conti Gilda Bryant Martin Garbulsky?Ben Holland Farm Journal Progressive Cattle Ryan Bruchou Miguel Zappi SVG Ventures | THRIVE Burak Buyukdemir Hustle Fund Shiyan K. Part 2 The Agile Edge By understanding the unique challenges of small and mid-sized farms, we iterate on our Agtech product to meet their needs: Modular Design: Allow features to be selected a-la-carte based on operation size and focus. User-Centric Development: Partner with farms for co-design and rapid feedback loops to tailor the solution's growth. This combination of rethinking cover crops as a byproduct engine, harnessing satellite data for precision, and agile product development tailored for the small farm market positions our Agtech product, and me as a thought leader, for accelerated success in this dynamic sector. The best land stewards ever are your farmers, so love them. The majority of the farmers I work with are 4 or 6 generations old; their grandparents originated the farm while I was employed in Wisconsin, and they are either from Finland or Norway.

??? Excited to share the incredible journey we undertook at The Knowledge Society (TKS) focus hackathon, where our team dived into the fascinating world of genetic editing using spirulina for a few days.?? Working alongside my amazing teammates Adrià Mir Muntades, Mara Gonzalez Moral, Nilasha Naveen, and IIinca Lungeanu, we passionately tackled the challenge posed to us: "Create an innovative solution to a real problem using depth of knowledge from your Focus topics that can be deployed in less than 3 years." ?? We found that 50% of the population relies on synthetic fertilizer which isn’t good at all for our environment. Our focus on utilizing genetically modified spirulina to reduce the use of fertilizers represents a leap in sustainable advancement.? By leveraging the unique properties of spirulina, we aim to address environmental concerns and create a more eco-friendly approach to agriculture. ?? Spirulina, a powerhouse of nutrients and proteins, holds incredible potential for precision genetic modifications. It requires less land and water, reduces deforestation and pressure on freshwater resources. ?? While the hackathon didn't place our team among the top winners, the invaluable learning experience has left a great mark on our journey. Grateful for being recognized as one of the top additional teams with high-level feedback from Brandon Jennings and the effort of my team put to get our recommendation together in short time. ??Winning isn't just about getting a reward or ranking. It's about facing challenges, learning, and growing. The hackathon showed us that success is more than rankings – it's about the journey and getting better. Check out our slide deck here:
