Bruce Greenfield asks: What is a surf park when it's no longer attached to the beach? I differentiate between internal and external aspects. No matter what country in the world, the same rules and methods apply to project development and operation. When external factors are added, things get interesting. Brand, communication style, venue fit out or equipment design can be adapted to the country, the region, the city. This is especially true for standing waves. #Landlocked #surfing can be characterized by the urban environment. Characterized by #urbanlifestyle, architecture and social structures that develop in urban spaces with a creative and cosmopolitan character. They make it possible to experience sport, lifestyle and culture without having to travel long distances. It does not have to be sand or palm trees! When we develop projects, we also think of skateboarding in pump tracks. But the combination with a beach club also makes sense in order to bring the fascination of the beach and the ocean into the urban space. Just like countless urban gastronomies or wakeboard parks do. I think the most important thing is to think in an endless loop and always keep that in mind when developing an urban location: The customer journey from the first experience on a surfboard to surfing an #artificialwave that very quickly fulfills the dream of surfing in the ocean. These customers return to the place of origin and pass on the fascination to future surfers.
