If you’re a football fan and interested in tactics, don’t miss my new blog where I dive deep into the philosophy of one of the best coaches of today – Diego Simeone. Simeone’s relentless philosophy, emphasizing discipline and organization, has transformed the way modern football is played. On my blog, you’ll not only find the theoretical foundations of this philosophy, but also practical examples of counter-attack training. I’ll explain how Simeone approaches quick transitions into attack and how to effectively train these dynamic moments that can decide the outcome of a match. If you want to improve your football game or learn more about coaching methods that can take a team to the next level, my blog is the perfect place for you. https://lnkd.in/efTygRjj

What is Carlo Ancelotti's secret to his longevity and consistent success at the highest levels? This seems to be the answer. There are managers and there are coaches. To be able to unreservedly say that the decisive thing is their quality and commitment indicates a certain level of trust in the players. This, instead of micromanaging these professionals, enables the players to play the game creatively and in a way that is enjoyable. It trusts the players to carry out the training plans. It trusts the players to cohesively behave in response to different situations. It is empowering. Of course, players need coaching. Some may have no idea what to do in positional play et cetera, but that could have been addressed during training itself. I am not advocating that this approach works. After all, in football, many factors contribute to the outcome of a match: the available infrastructure, the players, culture and more. What's essential is for managers/coaches to understand the needs of the club and devise ways to improve them. #psychologicalskills #sportpsychology #GTsnippets

?? Had a good football discussion today with my good friend Bashar. We covered a range of topics - from football journeys and session planning to coach expectations, culture and travel. One takeaway I wanna share with you is my belief in the power of high expectations leading to high results. As coaches, it’s not our place to permanently label players as “good” or “bad” - most especially younger players! Our responsibility is to believe in their potential and guide them to grow. With the right coaching, any player can rise to meet, and even exceed, expectations. What are your thoughts on this?

There is a powerful lesson in this video clip from Coach Mike Tomlin. Every people manager, CEO to frontline, should understand this. ? Says Coach Tomlin: “I love coaches that resist coaching, ’cause they’re easy to beat. . . . I don’t run away from coaching. I run to coaching. It all is in line with that not seeking comfort because when you’re a coach that’s talking about somebody can’t learn, you’re seeking comfort, because you’re teaching struggling.” ? If you run an organization, good questions to ask yourself are: ? How am I measuring up as a coach for my executives? Am I running away from the responsibility of giving them feedback? Do we build coaching as a discipline across this organization? Or do our managers resist coaching? Does every employee here get the privilege of a coach who works to build their skills—even when it’s not comfortable? https://lnkd.in/gjFQsVsv

In this video, I coach two friends on how to perform the ground pass in football. I use an assessment technique called an Incidence Chart to track their progress. This chart records how often they successfully complete the pass, almost complete it, or make specific mistakes like hitting it "Too Soft" or "Too Hard." It allows me to provide targeted feedback on their technique. Reflecting on this session, I realized I could be more confident during future coaching. I can improve the sessions further by incorporating a physical Incidence Chart. This would allow the players to see the data visually and identify areas for improvement. https://lnkd.in/exjkbTAC?

In the movie Moneyball, the secret to success in Baseball was getting on base. In football, the key to winning lies in getting closer to the opposition's goal as often as possible, increasing teams chances to score. Football is a low-scoring game, which makes progression of the ball a key metric for performance. To achieve this, we need progressive passes - a forward pass that advances the ball at least 10 meters and covers at least 25% of the remaining distance to the opponent's goal. Progressive players are very valuable for their teams as they make things happen. I wrote an article with practical training drills on how to coach and improve your teams progressive passes ?? #football #coaching #data #socceranalytics

BE ADAPTIVE!! Having a strict game model is crucial for a successful coaching career. But, as coaches we have to be adaptive. One of the external parameters that affects our game model are the competitions that our team participates. One of the first things that i do when i join a new club is to analyze and reach the tactical trend of the competitions my team is or is going to participate and make the adaptions. #football #coaching #footballanalysis #footballgamemodel
