This paper analyzes the performance of an indoor #visible #light #communication (#VLC) system with dynamic #human #blockages. Specifically, the authors use the #random #waypoint (#RWP) #model to characterize the movement of the blockages. The system performance is analyzed for a #4-#LED configuration, where the blockages can pause during the movement for a specific pause time. Further, they developed a model to calculate the #blockage #probability in a #typical #indoor #space, which is consequently used to calculate the power at the VLC receiver. Additionally, the analysis is extended for multiple blockage scenarios with different pause times. This paper aims to optimize multiple #reconfigurable #intelligent #surfaces (#RISs) to control the signal propagation environment for maximizing the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) in a #multiuser #MIMO system. The authors examine two approaches for managing interference and determining the optimal phase shifts for the RIS elements. This work evaluates the effectiveness of a novel #one-#way #time of #flight #based #passive #ultra-#wideband (#UWB) inertial navigation solution for indoor positioning of a #mobile #platform and formulates a design criterion for choosing between #passive #systems through #noise #analysis. The proposed #tightly #coupled #time #of #arrival (#TC-#TOA) approach achieves passive synchronization by #keeping #track of the #local #clock and its #derivatives as states. Using these states and position estimate, the #reception #timestamps of the network messages are predicted. The errors in these #predicted #timestamps are then used to update both #clock #states and the position states through accurate modeling of coupled interactions. I’m happy to share with you the first results of one of our ongoing collaborative projects focusing on the development of a new method to study the acoustic factors driving the short-term annoyance experienced by neighbours of high-speed train lines. Our objective is to be able to better explain annoyance caused by high-speed trains noise, to improve current indicators by considering new event-related aspects who are not yet fully understood and finally to improve the quality of life of high-speed train lines neighbours.
