I have 28 days left until my long-awaited NYSC Passing Out Parade! Anyone close to me really knows how I've been counting down the days. As I write this, I can’t help but wonder: have I truly achieved a lot professionally? It’s so easy to get caught up in the comparisons we see on LinkedIn. We scroll through others’ successes and sometimes feel like we’re falling behind. But let’s always remind ourselves: our journeys are uniquely ours. Each of us runs our own race, with different paths, challenges, and milestones. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small, and focus on your own growth. There is so much emphasis and pressure on young people to deliver exceptional results in their GCSE's, oftentimes causing overwhelming anxiety and self-doubt. The immense strain and perfectionism projected onto our young people can oftentimes push them to breaking point. Post-results, when these people don't get the grades they were expecting, often have a shadow of doubt cast over their futures giving them the impression that they aren't going to succeed or do well in life because of the results they get. These letters/numbers do not define you as a person - they're not a projection of your ability to create, your passion, they do not showcase your ambition and drive, they are simply just letters/numbers on a piece of paper.
