Safety and reliability are paramount in all industrial projects. Typical applications of our solutions include equipment maintenance, team members' safety and process efficiencies. Inspections of a nuclear reactor are essential to produce power both efficiently and safely. For such instances, we have designed bespoke electric linear actuators to lower a specialist machine which provides measurements and maintenance checks via a camera in the reactor fuel channel. The machine itself is mounted on wheels for easy transportation however when in use its position requires it to be held firm and rigid. To solve this problem, four customised screw jacks were mounted on the base of the machine, that when extended, take the weight off the wheels similar to stabiliser jacks on mobile cranes.
