Exciting news in the world of film! Took Albie and Arthur to see Warner Bros.' latest release, Buffalo Kids last night, it is not only an epic adventure but also a groundbreaking step forward for representation in cinema. This film features a child with cerebral palsy as the hero, a powerful portrayal that challenges traditional narratives and celebrates differences in a meaningful way. Buffalo Kids is a reminder that heroes come in all forms, and by raising awareness of cerebral palsy, we are breaking down barriers and embracing the richness of diverse experiences. Representation matters, especially for children with disabilities who rarely see themselves as the center of their own stories. This film shines a light on the importance of inclusivity, creating a world where everyone, regardless of ability, can be celebrated for their unique strengths. Let's keep pushing for more stories like this, where differences aren't just acknowledged, they are embraced as superpowers! #BuffaloKids #braininjurygroup #CerebralPalsyAwareness #InclusionMatters #Representation #CelebrateDifferences #FilmForChange

What do you do when you leave University and no longer have access to thousands of pounds worth of equipment? You embrace it. I have just released my new film “Indigo memories” which i wrote , directed , shot and edited. It was filmed in one night with two actors , two lav mics and a shitty digital camera and locations that we definitely were allowed to film in (shush!). Limitations are the birth of creativity, when you can’t hide behind fancy lighting set ups, expensive lenses and artsy camera movement you have to rely on a good story and good characters. The one thing i hate the most in low budget short films is when they try so hard to look expensive, like the filmmakers are embarrassed of the small budget. Use it to your advantage! A small budget can feel so much more engaging and authentic, like a barrier has been removed between the audience and the characters. Being creative with a limited budget and looking at what you have access to can make your short film inexpensive and unique for example; - Two of your good friends who can act and are already in a relationship with each other so therefore have built in chemistry? Use it. - A personal perspective on the LGBT community that you feel never gets discussed? Use it. - A small digital camera that gives the overall look of the film a grainy memory like aesthetic? Use it. The budget for this film ended up being a few yagerbombs and a bottle of poppers and yet…i am extremely proud of it. You can watch the finished film here:

The coveted new role in Hollywood - Production Access Coordinators making sure audition locations, film and tv sets are accessible for everyone. The role also provides a safe place for cast and crew to disclose a disability and what they might need on set. While the position is not yet widespread, it is emerging as a new role to be more inclusive and ensure opportunities for those with disabilities. The goal is to bring more people with disabilities into the production access coordinating industry and to make the role standardized across all productions. EVERY educator needs to watch the movie Out of My Mind on Disney+. Understand the lived experiences of disabled people. Support them by incuding them. It matters more than you know. Sadly, I have heard teachers say things you’ll hear in this movie, and have listened to what the system says because that’s what I was trained to do. I know better now. Inclusion matters. #Education #Inclusion #AssistiveTechnology https://lnkd.in/gwc-kBCs

Access:Horror was ranked as one of the top five film festivals for accessibility on the 2023 Accessibility Scorecard Impact Report! “The film festivals with the highest survey scores stood out double digits higher than the next highest festivals, and all of the top five festivals have annual operating budgets under $3,000,000, indicating it does not necessarily require large budgets to prioritize accessibility.” – 2023 Accessibility Scorecard Impact Report Also among the top five are Superfest Disability Film Festival (Superfest), BlackStar Film Festival (BlackStar), International Queer Women of Color Film Festival (QWOCMAP) and New Orleans Film Festival (NOFF). Closed captioning benefits more than the Deaf and hard-of-hearing populations. In addition, people with auditory processing disorders, attention disorders and those learning English as a second language can benefit from closed captioning on content. Closed captions can also assist with comprehension in quiet moments or with characters that have difficult-to-parse or strong accents. Closed captioning on a nation-wide scale has been done before, and is done time and time again, by the annual American distribution of Studio Ghibli films by GKids. For limited runs in theaters, some screenings incorporate English subtitles to accompany the Japanese audio so English speaking people can engage authentically with the experience. Of course, it must also be noted that accessibility should not have to be justified by its widespread appeal and use - accessibility should be implemented openly and without pressures on a societal or legislative level. It is only fair for us to return the favor of captioning that the Deaf filmmakers of CODA extended to us in order to understand their signing.
In a significant stride for inclusivity, HASA has voiced strong support for the new Closed Captioning Bill in Maryland. This legislative effort underscores the urgent need for more closed-captioned films in theaters, advocating for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community's equal access to cinematic experiences. Movies are a universal form of entertainment and art, meant to be enjoyed by all, regardless of hearing ability. Yes, Closed Captions don't provide the full context for the actions being displayed on screen, but they ensure that everyone can share in the magic of film without barriers, enriching our collective experience and understanding. Let's champion for more inclusivity in every aspect of our society. Films are not just stories on a screen; they are a powerful medium that connects us through shared human experiences. By supporting measures like this bill, we're not just advocating for accessibility; we're fostering a culture of inclusivity where everyone can enjoy the beauty of film. https://lnkd.in/e_uu-aWd #Inclusivity #Accessibility #DeafCommunity #ClosedCaptioning #Film

"The way you see people is the way you treat them. And the way you treat them is what they become." This statement is the beginning of our "Unstoppable" campaign—a celebration of resilience, empowerment, and the courage to break free from society’s stigmas. This campaign isn’t just about changing perceptions of others—it’s also about how we see ourselves. When we view ourselves as unstoppable, we begin to act with that energy and transform our potential into reality. At Circleg, we believe it’s time to challenge old patterns. Judgments, stigmatization, and labels hold us back from building a society that celebrates individuals for their humanity, not their circumstances. Through "Unstoppable," we’re starting a conversation: How can we see, treat, and empower one another to create a world where everyone is celebrated for who they truly are? Because when it comes to social impact, this is where it begins—with all of us. Join the movement. Let’s reimagine how we see ourselves and each other. Together, we can make the unstoppable possible.
At Circleg, we believe in breaking barriers and challenging perceptions. That’s why today, on International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD) we are proud to launch our latest campaign: Unstoppable. This campaign is more than a celebration of resilience—it’s a call to reimagine how society views disability. Thank you to our amazing cast and crew! Show your unstoppable support for an inclusive society.
