“You’ll stay in contact with us baji, haina?” They asked. “Always!” I had all the stars glittering in my eyes. 16th December 2024 was marked as my last day at The Citizens Foundation Rahbar Program, where as a mentor my role was to inspire young minds to think of themselves as the creators of their own destiny rather than victims of their circumstances. However, what I didn't anticipate was just how much I would learn and get inspired in return. It was a revolutionary experience, to say the least. As I urged my mentees to embrace their potential and seize every opportunity, I was confronted with my own shortcomings and doubts. How many times had I told others to chase their dreams while silently harboring fears of failure? How often had I emphasized the virtues of resilience while grappling with my personal challenges? Yet, it was precisely this realization that fueled my growth as a mentor. Each time I shared a piece of advice, I was not only guiding my mentees but also confronting my own shortcomings. It was a constant reminder that mentorship is not about having all the answers but rather about embarking on a journey of self-discovery together. Through this process, I learned to be more honest and vulnerable with my mentees, sharing not just my successes but also my struggles. In doing so, I found that our bond deepened, and our conversations became more meaningful. Together, we navigated the complexities of life, offering support and encouragement every step of the way. Moreover, I can’t say how grateful I am to the wholesome people I met there. Thank you so much, Natasha Shaheen, Amatullah Saeed, Aliza Muhammad, Sumera Karim, Ripa and several others for making this journey an experience of a lifetime! In short, Rahbar wasn't just about mentorship as it was about more human connection and growth. Children's safety is essential for their well-being. Be Priceless' SEED Education uniquely empowers children and caregivers's attitude, behaviors, and capacity for holistic health - mental, physical, relational, community, and environmental health. Strong health impact: Children and caregivers experience 20% higher health index after just a 12h and 8h SEED Course, this sustains for at least 6 months. This translates to over 1/2 of learners having greater emotional regulation, communication, rejecting and reporting of unsafe situations, using a safety plan, and sense of well-being, safety, and belonging. Medium term: this health impact sustains for 10 more months when graduates participates in 1 more family workshop. We hope to support the children until they are 17 years. Long-term: we nurture the graduates to pay forward by driving community health projects - our current mean volunteer age is 8 years, and over 60% of our graduates are giving back to the community, e.g. volunteering. Health Equity: we prioritize support for the most vulnerable - the majority of learners are from low-income or NCS families. 1 in 4 of our learners live with SEN. All this is possible because SEED is developed and supported by more than 70 professionals from 10 sectors, including doctors, nurses, public health professionals, educators, counsellors, social workers, lawyers, child protection workers, NGO workers, and researchers. I already volunteered several times in the asylum center, but today it was my first time as a 'teacher'. It was a heartwarming experience supporting these incredible kids, ensuring they keep up with their studies during the summer break. Despite their heavy backpacks of experiences – fleeing war and other hardships – their resilience and boundless energy are truly inspiring. ?????????????????? ???????? ???????? ????????????????????: 1. ???????????????????? ???? ??????????????????: These kids have taught me that no matter the circumstances, the human spirit is incredibly resilient. Their ability to stay positive and eager to learn despite their challenges is a powerful reminder of the strength we all have within us. 2. ?????? ?????????? ???? ??????????????????: Education is a critical tool for empowerment. By helping these children maintain their language skills, we are giving them the keys to unlock new opportunities and integrate more easily into their new environment. 3. ?????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ????????: The act of giving back is mutually beneficial.
