But here’s the deal: that small sacrifice could help power something incredible. SOAR Afterschool Program isn’t your average after-school program. Picture 100+ kids in one building—yes, it’s a little wild at times—but it’s also where empowerment, growth, and exploration take center stage. Think of it as organized chaos, where structure meets love, and future leaders are forged. Here, kids aren’t just waiting for their parents to pick them up—they’re learning to lead, mastering entrepreneurial and soft skills, and discovering what it takes to build thriving communities. It’s like a mini shark tank (minus the actual sharks), and the top kids even compete for a chance to showcase their skills in Washington, D.C. Led by a group of young professionals who could probably moonlight as lion tamers, SOAR is a nonprofit with a mission to prepare our future workforce and communities—all with a lot of heart and maybe a little duct tape. When you invite Board Members to your events, you keep them engaged, give them a taste of the school and remind them what they are committed to.? ? ? Bonus Points:?Spend a little bit of time investing in Board members as ambassadors, and it will pay off. They may not know key talking points on what makes your school special. Teach them.
