Project Masam has announced today it has successfully demolished 602 landmines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Yemen’s southern Abyan region. These included: ? two Houthi-manufactured anti-personnel mines ? three Houthi-manufactured anti-tank mines ? 221 miscellaneous shells ? 12 Houthi-manufactured IEDs ? four hand grenades ? one aerial vehicle carrying a large explosive warhead ? 226 miscellaneous rounds ? 133 miscellaneous fuses Controlled demolitions mitigate the risk of landmines and other unexploded ordnance of falling into the wrong hands, or being repurposed for IEDs - which continue to be locally manufactured and used in Yemen against civilians and military targets – without discrimination. #Yemen #YemenWar #MineAction #Houthis #Weapons #Landmines #IED #EOD #Clearance #Security #Safety #Protection

#Hezbollah is using the limited-war situation in the north to test its capabilities as well as the #IDF's reactions and capabilities, while it introduces new and more advanced weaponry into the arena. From Iran back to Lebanon… A controlled explosion of a tunnel filled with explosives in Lebanon triggered earthquake alerts from the Home Front Command in Israel. This alert was likely caused by the detonation of a large amount of ammunition, which activated technological tools in Israel. To give you an idea of the scale, before the controlled explosion, the IDF evacuated 150 trucks full of munitions that were in Hezbollah’s possession. Forest and farmland fires have recently intensified on the Israel-Lebanon border as Hezbollah and Israel edge closer to a full-blown war. They are caused by shelling, rocket, and airstrikes between Hezbollah and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that began on 8 October, when the Lebanese armed group started firing into Israel in support of #Gaza. Since October, ACLED has recorded 191 incidents where attacks launched by Hezbollah and the IDF caused fires on either side of the border. In #Lebanon, at least 115 forest and farmland fires have broken out due to Israeli attacks. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has launched larger salvos of rockets and drones into #Israel in recent weeks, resulting in at least 46 incidents of fires in Israel since 1 June. The Israeli airstrike on Yemen's Red Sea port of Hodeidah had significant impacts on Yemen. 1. It ignited huge fires at oil and gas storage facilities, causing substantial damage to the port infrastructure. 2. The attack targeted an electrical station and equipment used for loading and unloading cargo, further disrupting port operations. 3. Yemen reported three fatalities and over 80 injuries. 4. The strike is expected to result in severe fuel shortages across northern Yemen. Who are the Houthis? The Houthis, also known as Ansar Allah, are a Zaydi Shiite politico-religious movement founded by Husayn al-Houthi. Originating from Yemen's northwestern Saada province, they practice a form of Shiism distinct from that in Iran. The group rose to prominence in 2014 by rebelling against Yemen's government, seizing the capital Sanaa, and controlling much of northern Yemen. They have received support from Iran, including advanced drone and missile technology. PIJ, Hezbollah and other Insurgents have the POLEDISH system and other ELINT DF systems and do they share this info with Iran? Does Iran have strategic ELINT DF capability and is any other nation providing it?Does Iran have stratigic IMINT capability (and the analytic skill to exploit it (or is any third party supplying it)? Did the Iraniam strikes involve a SEAD plan (and was it effective)? Will Hezbollah see this as a trigger for decisive engagement with Israel? Will the PA launch an Infatada? Could this bring Israeli Arabs and Palestinians to Israel's side?
